Props to the Northwest Neighborhood Association and Old Hill Road for a good candidate forum earlier this week -- they focused on questions pertinent to the members of their communities and, in a couple of places, pushed back on what they perceived to be insufficient answers. That's how it should be done. The result was a good look at each of the candidates for voters in District 3. If you are one of those voters, this is worth your time to watch.
The most important box on your ballot this year may be the Boise Water Renewal Bond.
Please vote "YES" for clean water and predictable rates -- a "no" vote will saddle us with a 50+% rate hike in January, and cause current residents to shoulder the bill for infrastructure that future residents will use. Vote "YES"!!
Water Renewal Bond: What to Know — Patrick Bageant, Boise City Council Tl;dr Summary : vote “YES” on the Water Utility Bond!
We all miss Lisa's kindness, smile, and upbeat, can-do attitude. They put her in the 99th percentile of amazing humans and, as many press articles show, she undoubtedly gave much more to our community than any one of us even knows.
Please consider giving a little bit back to her family in this private and horrific time. https://gofund.me/a5e98ed5

Have you ever wondered why there are few shops or cafes within walking distance of your home? Or why there doesn’t seem to be enough parking in certain places around the city?
Our city’s zoning code outlines what is and isn't allowed in our city—it has shaped Boise as we know it.
But our 55-year-old zoning code is outdated, and we need your help to make it better.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
This year we’ve been faced with uncertainty, fear, anger and grief. Yet, today, we are feeling grateful. We are grateful for our community’s health care workers and first responders. We are grateful for teachers, wherever they may be holding classes. We are grateful to restaurants, businesses and grocery stores for meeting us at the curb or on our doorsteps. We are grateful to all of you who changed big plans and chose to stay home instead. We are grateful every day for this community. Happy Thanksgiving, Boise.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) CDC provides credible COVID-19 health information to the U.S.
To further prevent the spread of COVID-19, I am issuing a Public Health Order, effective Monday, November 23. In addition to some temporary closures, we have also made the difficult decision to close Idaho Ice World, the Boise Senior Center and Boise Municipal Pools through Summer 2021. This order also creates consequences for individuals and businesses who knowingly disregard public health requirements.
Our current strategy for combating COVID-19 is not working. If we do not change our approach, our health and our economy will suffer. We know we need to do more to protect residents in the largest, most densely populated area in our state.

Paper leaf bag collection will be reduced from 10 to five bags per week, however, additional leaf drop-off locations are available. Curbside glass collection is suspended until Nov. 30.
