Our goal at Wicked Siren is to make the best darn BBQ sauce you ever had. We know how to do this, to Burned into the wood were the words “For the Wicked Siren”.
In the year 1737, a sailing vessel by the name of HMS Schelle with a crew of sixty led by Captain Byers was shipping barrels of a new American elixir called Barh Bea Quew to ports across the world. It was said that this Barh Bea Quew was indeed the nectar of the Gods. When added to meat, the exceptional mouth feel and sublime flavors that came alive were unique and unrivaled and thus in high deman
d. On a moonless night, seven eves past leaving the American Port, it is recorded that the crew said they were “drawn to a singular noise, impossible to describe adequately but comparable to a hauntingly beautiful harmonic melody.” When searching for the root of this wickedly captivating song, the crew spotted what Captain Byers described as “beautiful creatures having human arms, angelic faces with long flowing hair, and what appeared to be shimmering fish like tails instead of legs. These creatures were cavorting playfully near the vessel, then after three quick plunges, they swam rapidly away and were lost to sight.”
The total darkness of the night made it difficult to see, so the seaman followed this wickedly melodic song and soon found that they were hypnotized and no longer in control of their actions, much less their ship. The Wicked Song of the Sirens led the crew and their ship directly into the rocky shores. With the rise of the sun, the destruction of the HMS Schelle was seen scattered all across the rocky coast. Legend has it that any sailor to succumb to the Siren Song was fated to die. So it was with great surprise that all sixty sailors were found to be alive on the shore with most of their possessions intact. It seems the Sirens were so infatuated with the Barh Bea Quew elixir that they instead claimed it as their prize and left the sailors to sail another day. Since then, Sailors have stowed barrels of this Barh Bea Quew elixir for the Wicked Siren on board their ship as a sacrifice for safe passage across the seas, until the use of wooden ships was abandoned along with this specific recipe. Two hundred and fifty years later, a barrel of this elixir was discovered on a deserted island with rocky shores. With modern technological advances in food science, we were able to replicate this ancient nectar of the Gods for all to enjoy.
