Here is a personal question ... many of you might not feel comfortable answering, but ... how often do you wash your sheets? I'm a 1x p/week washer ... but I can't say the same for those under 25 years old in my family ... do i ever sleep in their beds ... NO!Project:

How many people/bar strools should an island ideally fit? We say 4 ... with room to swing your legs around comfortabley! How many do you sit at your own kitchen island? This island at is the perfect size, with a bit of room to spare! ••

We designed our homes at The Way Bellvue to include what we call "pocket offices" or "zoom rooms" ... it's a clever way to fit in a small home office without sacrificing too much square footage. In this unit we added one right off the main living area ... swipe to see alternate view :)Project:

If you were designing a kitchen today ... what color cabinets do you think you'd choose? For the last several years, white has seemed to have been the "go to" choice for many ... don't get us wrong, a white kitchen is classic and when well done stands the test of time! More recently we've been leaning toward warmer wood tones and even more richly painted colors. That said, we like to mix it up and even in this kitchen we added white perimeter cabinets to round things out. White kitchens are not gone ... but maybe taking 2nd seat for a while as our kitchens start warming back up? Thoughts?Project:
As much as many of us love the idea of one story ranch home living, "urban living" and narrow lots usually dictate multi-level homes ... giving us the opportunity to create some amazing staircases like this steel floating beauty at our project! Might as well be climbing something gorgeous when getting in all those steps! Project:

When we converted the old dining room into the kitchen at our project we had to pack a lot of punch into the island … dishwasher, sink & microwave! This island works hard but it has the most amazing view to the side yard out the restored leaded windows (swipe for a better glimpse of these beauties in the before shot!)

Ok, be honest ... how do could you fill all the cabinets in this kitchen? The truth is, i could not ... but I'm a self confessed minimalist. I know we designed this pretty and added that 2nd bank up uppers up high but what in the world would people actually store way up there? And if you do have enough kitchen goodies to fill those uppers ... what is it you are storing up there and do you ever use it? •••

Typically you’ll see kitchen islands run parallel to the range wall but sometimes, especially in a renovation, you just don’t have the space to do so! Never fear! Running your island perpendicular to the range wall can work too … and actually adds a bit of visual interest to the space! At our we did just that and the space turned out amazing! Sometimes it pays to “buck the trend”! project:

We broke 70 degrees in the Seattle area this week which means it’s time to start thinking about all things summer! Small but mighty! This powder bath at packs a punch! A full height tile backsplash and floating quartz vanity are perfectly positioned to greet you when you enter the room and the statement pendant light adds the final “piece de resistance”!
