Do you ever ask yourself 'where'd all my money go?!' Do you ever feel like you have too much month at the end of your money? Have you ever floated a check? You may need a financial coach.

You need to be the boss of your money. You need to tell your money where to go, rather than ask where it went. The best way to gain control over your money is to make a plan for it. A financial coach can help you write that plan.

That plan is called a budget. I know, you're probably saying 'I can't budget, I'm terrible at math', or 'if I budget I can't buy anything fun', or 'I don't make enough money to budget'. These are all myths. A financial coach can disprove these false statements.

Call me or email me, I can be your Financial Coach!

I am seeing and hearing more and more commercials on social media, on the radio, and other places, for debt consolidation. Lots of people are struggling with job-loss and salary reduction during this pandemic season. It makes sense that people would want to get their debt under control. The main selling point of these commercials is always one monthly payment with a, promised, lower interest rate. One mortgage company is offering to roll your credit card, and other debt, into a re-financed mortgage, taking advantage of the currently lowered interest rates.

Debt consolidation almost never solves the problem that got the person into a difficult financial situation. More often that not, financial problems are a symptom of another problem in that person’s life that needs to be addressed. Therefore, consolidating debt creates one payment, but then frees up the space on those credit cards for more spending. Over time the person will, likely, end up with new credit card – plus – the old debt rolled into the house. Now your home could be at risk for foreclosure when the new, greater, level of debt becomes unsustainable.

If you find yourself in a difficult financial position, and you could use some help managing it, call Rob at 586-574-5802. You can also click on the Book Now button at the top of the page. I look forward to the opportunity to help you.

The High Price of a 401(k) Withdrawal 07/05/2020

You may be tempted to withdraw money from your 401(k), especially if you find yourself in a difficult spot during this pandemic season. The CARES Act has created a loop hole that claims to remove the "penalties" for doing this. Don't make a difficult situation even worse by falling for this trap.
