2023 ELECTION: NIGERIANS CONDEMN HIGH COST OF FORM

The high cost of forms was condemned by many Nigerians on social media including members of the ruling party.

They argued that it would prevent youths and disadvantaged groups from running for office.

A former media aide to ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, asked, β€œHow can the APC set presidential nomination forms at N100m? Is that not encouraging corruption? Who, but the corrupt, can afford that? Is that why they pardoned Dariye and Nyame, so they can sponsor forms?”

In his contribution, journalist, Adejumo Kabir, tweeted, β€œBuhari criticised the N27.5m levy for the presidential nomination form in 2014, describing it as exorbitant. Today he leads a party selling form for N100m. Shame on him.”

Gold Isaiah tweeted, β€œThe APC presidential nomination is pegged at N100m. I’m not surprised because all the money they have been borrowing is in their personal accounts. Highly corrupt regime!”

Uche Jegbefume tweeted, β€œN100m for presidential nomination form means absolutely nothing to the fantastically corrupt people in the APC. Only the electorate and masses are perpetually poor for their political gains.”

Abubakar Mona Usman tweeted, β€œN100m for APC presidential nomination form? This tells you how corrupt, wicked, and inhuman the government of the day is. May God save us in 2023.”

However, the Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria and founding member of the party, Osita Okechukwu, justified the high cost of forms, saying it would deter unserious aspirants.

Speaking in a phone interview with The PUNCH on Wednesday, Okechukwu, also noted that the high fees were a result of a decision by Buhari who insisted that the party must fund itself.

ATTENTION TO ALL OUR PRESIDENTIAL AND GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANTS.

In case you don't know the root cause of our problems today, please take time out and read below:

As of 29/03/2022, the exchange rates were:

Β£1 = ₦783
$1 = ₦560
€1 = ₦670

42 years ago, precisely on 01/03/1980 the exchange rate was:
$1 = 0.78k

Are you surprised?

Well, we were far more productive in 1980 than we are today.

In 1980 the key reasons for economic growth were as follows:

1. We were a net exporter of refined petroleum products. Today we import all our refined petroleum products.

2. We rode in locally assembled cars, buses and trucks. Peugeot cars in Kaduna and Volkswagen cars in Lagos.

3. Leyland produced trucks/buses in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu also produced buses and trucks.

4. Steyr in Bauchi produced our Agricultural tractors. And it was not just Assembly, we were producing many of the components:

5. Vono products in Lagos produced the vehicle seats.

6. Exide in Ibadan produced the batteries, not just for Nigeria but for the entire West Africa.

7. IsoGlass and TSG in Ibadan produced the windshields.

8. Ferrodo in Ibadan produced the brake pads and discs

9. Dunlop produced Tyres in Lagos and Mitchelin Tyres were produced in Port Harcourt. And I mean tyres produced from rubber plantations located in Ogun, Bendel and Rivers State.

10. We were listening to Radio and watching television sets assembled in Ibadan by Sanyo.

11. We were using refrigerators, freezers and Airconditioners produced by Thermocool and Debo.

12. We were putting on clothes produced from the UNTL Textile Mills in Kaduna and Chellarams in Lagos. They were Not from imported cotton but from cotton grown in Nigeria.

13. Our water was running through pipes produced by Kwalipipe in Kano and Duraplast in Lagos .

14. Our toilets were fitted with WC produced in Kano and Abeokuta.

15 We were cooking with LPG gas stored inside gas cylinders produced at the NGC factory in Ibadan.

16. Our electricity was flowing through cables produced by the Nigerian Wire and Cable, Ibadan; NOCACO in Kaduna and Kablemetal in Lagos and Port Harcourt.

17. We had Bata and Lennards Stores producing the shoes we were putting on. The shoes were not from imported leather but from locally tanned leather in Kaduna.

18. We were mainly flying our Airways, (the Nigeria Airways), to most places in the world. The Nigeria Airways was about the biggest in Africa at the time.

19. Most of the foods we ate were grown or produced in Nigeria.

We were producing all of the above and many more in 1980

Today, we import almost everything. Isn't that alarming?

There lies the source of the terrible exchange rate we are experiencing today and everyone reading this has a critical role to play in reversing this very UGLY trend.

We have been talking about these problems and more for ages.

It is not enough for us to complain about the exchange rate or point out what others are not doing or are failing to do. The key questions are:

1. What are we producing now?
2. What role are our so- called Leaders/ Politicians of today playing?

We are forever shying away from responsibility whereas it is a stack reality and if we don't deal with it, it won't go away. In fact it will get worse.

To our dear Politician, if you don't have the capacity to RESET Nigeria to what it was at least back in 1980 then please stay in your house and don't waste our time.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!

Please share widely on all platforms for Nigerians especially youths to know the critical role to play with the fixing of Nigeria.

Northern Emirs, Rulers Forced Me To Annul June 12, IBB Opens Up, Implicates David Mark, Abacha, Emirs

They will kill me; they will kill the President Elect, Chief MKO Abiola if I went ahead with the election and announced the winner of the elections which we all know to be Bashorun, Chief MKO Abiola.

''I know so; I am not daft. He won; he tried. I feel bad about the whole matter. Professor, I do not see how they will spare you because they know you are my principal confidant. You think they do not know you? They know; they know you are with me now. They saw you coming in and they know you are with me now I cannot kill myself for the sake of what the country wants. I am sorry,'' IBB lamented. It was astonishing to hear a General stating that he could not lay down his life for his country.

It was clear that General Babangida was in a fix as of June 21st 1993. I then proceeded to deal with the questions of who were these β€œthey” and for what reasons would they want to kill the President and the President Elect if the June 12 election were allowed to go forward. He named them in military and in ethnic categories:

''Sani (meaning General Sani Abacha) is opposed to a return to civilian rule. Sani cannot stand the idea of Chief Abiola, a Yoruba becoming his Commander- in- Chief; Sani seems to have the ears of the Norhern leaders that no Southerner especially from the South West should become the President of the country. Sani seems to rally the Northern elders to confront me on the matter. He is winning; the Sultan and the Northern leaders are of this frame of mind.''

''Where do I go from here? They do not trust me. Without Sani, I will not be alive today; without the North, I would not have become an officer in the Nigerian Army and now the President of Nigeria I don’t want to appear ungrateful to Sani; he may not be bright upstairs but he knows how to overthrow governments and overpower coup plotters. He saw to my coming to office in 1985 and to my protection in the many coups I faced in the past, especially the Orkar coup of 1990 where he saved me and my family including my infant daughter.”

''Sani risked his life to get me into office in 1983 and 1985; if he says he does not want Chief Abiola, I will not force Chief Abiola on him.''

He also named Lt General Dongoyaro and Brigadier General David Mark as those who were against Chief Abiola. In fact, he quoted David Mark as saying: I’d shoot Chief Abiola the day NEC( National Electoral Commission) pronounces him the elected President!

SOURCE:THE TALE OF JUNE 12: THE BETRAYAL OF THE DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS OF NIGERIANS BY PROFESSOR OMO OMORUYI.

So sad! The same David Mark went to Senate and became Senate President in a democracy that MKO Abiola died for.

PATIENCE WITH WOMEN

Every woman nags it's only natural, the intensity just varies from woman to woman. As a man especially a husband, the earlier you realize and accept the easier it becomes to deal with the tantrums of your wife.

Imam Ahmad after his wife passed away said;

"We lived together for forty years and never for once had an argument"

When he was asked as to what he did to achieve that, he replied;

"Whenever she got upset and tried to argue I kept shut, and when I also got upset she kept shut"

That is a very beautiful example set by our predecessors. During arguments most women tend to use their sharp tongue to balance up for their weak strength so for an impatient and short tempered man he might go physical thereby inflicting serious injuries.

As a husband whenever your wife starts to nag, you are advised to keep shut and pretend as if you can't hear her. If it becomes unbearable then kindly exit the house for her and go somewhere else (don't go too far though 🀣) most likely after a few hours she'd be back to normal.

These few tips should help in reducing domestic violence which is constantly making headlines recently. Being a man doesn't lie in displaying physical strength only but also in the amount of patience and wisdom applied in handling critical situations. The world will still blame you if beat her up due to her bad mouth so it is advised you don't.

Always remember the advice of the best of creations (Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί) to one of his companions Anjasha when he was scaring the womenfolk riding on camels with his loud voice

"Be gentle with the precious glasses"

(Scholars have said he used the word glass to show how fragile and careful women should be treated so they won't get broken).

If you cannot cope with your wife's actions then to divorce her honorably is better than making her handicap through constant beatings.

May Allah always fill our homes will love, compassion and mercy.
