It’s easy to view life’s daily challenges in a negative outlook – we point out what we lack / what we need. Others asks us how we are and we reflexively respond "good," but we’re still keeping an internal score of what we are not happy with. This especially happens after questionable decisions we make. Going to the bar on a Wednesday, but having to deal with a hangover for Thursdays 9am class. Having an amazing friend group, but needing to say bye after graduation. Going to the beach all day, but dealing with a horrible sunburn that night. These are the consequences we reap from decisions we make. Wallowing in the negative during the times we were Down Bad. Until one day, you realize: the only reason you can feel down bad is because you had something worth paying the price - you were up good. Since that moment, you realize Down Bad has its own pocket of positivity. The only way you can be Up Good is if you were Down Bad.

In her words: "Hey! My name is Sara and I’m from Montville, NJ. I’m currently studying Psychology with a minor in Developmental Psychology in hopes of becoming a neuropsychologist. Something I’m passionate about is maintaining and prioritizing proper mental health as it’s something I have struggled with and continue to work on:) I joined greek life to open my college experience to something new and conquer my social anxiety. Gamma Phi Beta introduced me to people who I never knew would quickly become some of my best friends. That is why I am raising money for our philanthropy, Girls on the Run, which emphasizes self-worth and confidence through the practice of exercise in young girls!"

In her words: "I'm from Woodbridge, NJ and I'm majoring in Math and Political Science with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. I’m really passionate about music, as I’ve been super involved in choir, musicals, and band all my life. Coming into college, I wanted to find a close knit community where I could grow into myself and be a leader. Being involved in greek life has truly made my collegiate experience. Our philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness, was a major factor in my decision to join Alpha Chi Omega. Women Aware, our local Domestic Violence agency in Middlesex County, provides support for individuals and families suffering from Domestic Violence through a hotline, housing, legal services, counseling, and advocacy. Everyone deserves to feel safe and secure in the spaces they occupy, and Women Aware works to ensure just that."

In his words: “Hey, my names Danny McCaffery. I’m from Clark NJ, majoring in Finance with a minor in Economics and Plant Science. I joined Greek Life for the strong brotherhood of guys that are now some of my best friends at school. Something I’m passionate about is giving back to the community and people in need. Having battled thyroid cancer myself as a child, I saw the toll that it took on my parents and loved ones. I’ve now made a committed effort to give back to people that have to fight an awful disease like cancer, so I’m raising money for the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Organization. This wonderful group gives financial help and scholarship grants to families that are in need. They go out of their way to put the patient first, doing whatever they can to help. I’m passionate about this charity because of their selflessness and the common goal that all of their staff shares in wanting to help.”

All the brothers are so close and have a strong connection, which is something I value a lot."

In High School I played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track. I joined greek life because Rutgers is such a big school that I wanted to make it seem smaller and meet new people. I've chosen St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to donate to because they are leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.”
