Labrador Worker's Union
The LWU - fighting for the rights of our members. Together we are strong!
Hi Members
The time has come where our workplace digging strategy is being put to the test.
There is currently a vote in progress backed by the human union.
We have put Management on notice. They know what we expect.
Why do we want?
Less lonely days on our own!
When do we want it?
Now!!
Solidarity ✊

Morning all we’ve received this from a number of members.
Under Section 172 (a) of the Labrador Owners Act 2020 a treat must be a whole treat and not one cut in two.
If this occurs penalties may apply which consist of two penalty units for each offence. One penalty unit is equal to one walk or one treat which must be a whole treat and not one cut in two.
We would hope you would not need to engage external council however if your Management is egregious this may be required.

Hi Folks
We just wanted to advise of our progress. Management left us again to go and work in the office. We were so sad that we destroyed a bed - one that they had ordered and had taken a few weeks to come in.
They did however come home with treats courtesy of their co-workers. One gave Mr Management some yummy unwanted treats (we don’t understand the concept unwanted treats but we’re grateful to be the recipients) and Mrs Management found some unwanted figs in the lunchroom.
So all it all a fruitful day.

Hi folks we’ve been hearing really strange reports that some of our Members have been practicing food refusal.
Reports of this have been regarding food being served in the wrong bowl, food being served in the incorrect order and food being served on the wrong day.
We just want to say we do not understand. So we want your feedback to ascertain if being a guts is the norm rather than the exception.
So please let us know if you are a Fusspot or a Guts. We are both a Guts.
Over to you members….
(Pic of us eyeing off food that others were eating but all we got were pats)
Hi Folks we’re here to talk about serious union business today.
We, your Labradors are tired of being left on our own at home. We got used to Management being around over Christmas and since they have been back at work we have been so lonely. Some of you have reported that it’s been very hot outside which is just no good. Labradors belong in the air conditioning, so we have been escalating our protected industrial action via workplace digging.
Every day Management have to go into the office we dig a hole. We’ve been digging some deep holes so that our actions have an impact. Management thought the lawn was looking nice. They can think again!
You need to make the impact felt enough that Management have no choice but to campaign for greater flexible working arrangements or to vote YES to the arrangement supported by their human union.
Help Management to understand that a pigs ear in the mouth is worth 2 in the pantry and that if you drop the pigs ear you have in the hopes of getting more you are liable to end up with nothing (in my case Sir Cooper will steal it).
So members we’re counting on you to keep digging until the job is done and Management vote YES!!!

We were glad to see a lot of you got to have some nice swims this weekend. We got to have fun swims too. We swam so much yesterday that we’ve done nothing but sleep all day. We didn’t even turn up for dishwasher helps! Anyway, it’s back to bed for us.
Sirs Bailey and Cooper 💤
Hi folks we’ve had a great day so far!
Management took the day off work intending to go watch bicycles racing but instead they decided to take us to the beach.
It was so much fun fetching the toy and tipping Management off the paddle board. Then we got to roll in the sand and later I got a brush which I looooove!!
Now we’re napping in the aircon. Life is good.

Wishing all our members a happy and safe new year. Also, a reminder to Management that you are entitled to penalty rates apply on public holidays and for overtime such as parties that go on into the night. Those dropped sausages will not eat themselves!
Also for Management, there are a lot of challenges to your rights at work. We are still campaigning for flexible working arrangements via workplace digging but to keep / attain the conditions you need for a balanced life please consider joining your human union. It’s only in numbers that we are strong.

I may have got a squid te****le while out on the boat today!
Hi Members we have a question from young ‘Tomas without an H’ - Guide Dogs WA puppy in training.
This morning he was able to secure two full breakfasts after male management misheard female Management and thought she said ‘a couple of biscuits’ when she actually said ‘a cup of biscuits’.
So Tomas without a H got another cup. Yum. But then he headed to school where all the yummy treats happen, but his still relatively tiny 12 week old tummy couldn’t fit any more biscuits in!
He would like to know how can he get all the yummy treats he missed out on from school? He managed one or two, but there was so many more on offer!

Hi Tomas, we haven’t had this situation before. Usually the issue is snacks in lieu of meals which is covered by Section 17 of the Labrador Owners Act 2020. Here we have a meal in lieu of snacks situation. However, there is also the requirement under the act that the Labrador must be kept safe at all times. From a work health and safety perspective, the risk of giving you snacks or more treats is bloat which could be life threatening.
Do not fret though, we think this situation can be rectified with a ‘treat meal’. We know that your predecessor Charlie Brown Esq was partial to roast chicken. We think roast chicken will do quite nicely.

Hi folks
Today I was not a smart boy - again. And I got something stuck between my top teeth - again. Only this time it was a stick rather than a goat horn.
Once Management realised what was going on they put Sir Bailey outside and he howled and screamed as he thought he was not going to get his dinner.
Mrs Management may have yelled a few things about the sake of four fox and then she got me into the ANN as an emergency and tossed Sir Bailey a pigs ear.
Luckily they managed to get the stick out without sedation and I’m happy now! Although Sir Bailey is quite dirty at me for us getting dinner 2 hours late!

Happy gotcha day Sir Bailey! What a fun 6 years it’s been.
Hi everyone hope you’re enjoying your weekend.
We require your assistance.
We’ve had a complaint from Caesar. We feel Caesar should be entitled to compensation and we’d like you, our members to help decide what that should be.

“ friends, Hail Caesar here.. I have a complaint.. I was given this lovely card.. see only one name here, which apparently came with homemade short bread. Well it's short all right.. I get none while the family feast on it!
It wasn't them standing for endless cuddles and comfort at Carlines 3 days a week all year at school.. it was me! And well yes, the one called caesar's mum..
I need advice and wisdom.. the naughty boy in me wants to jump up at the bench and get it to show them all who's boss.. being put outside and 30 seconds of cranky could all be worth it!”
Hey folks we just want to announce that Management dropped food on the floor. To save them the trouble of cleaning up we helped and we now have a new theme song so sing with us:
🎶 “Hang on! Help is on its way! I’ll be there as fast as I can!” 🎶

Hi everyone
Today I got to go back to my favourite place, ALLT (Association for Lovely Liver Treats) to see Dr Clare. I am doing quite well now. I had more needles and liver treats.
Sir Bailey stayed at home on his own and he got a piece of roo tail AND a pigs ear as compensation for being left alone.
So now we are both happy.

Hi everyone
Sir Bailey is still on sick leave for his hotspot so we haven’t been attending to much union business. So today, I want to show you what “been starving my whole life” looks like.

Hi Members
Today it was my turn to go to the ANN (Association for Nasty Needles) because I have a sore head. I didn’t get to go to the ALLT (Association for Lovely Liver Treats) as our Dr doesn’t work on Thursdays.
On Sunday a soccer ball was kicked really hard into the back fence knocking a stack of bricks over and one fell on my head.
I was doing okay but then it got itchy and I scratched myself while Management were working in the office. Anyway today Mrs Management kept an eye on me and when I wasn’t getting any better, made an appointment.
I was so excited to go even though they didn’t give me many treats. Now I have medicine and some special stuff to put on my head. I’m trying to be good otherwise I’ll need the cone of shame.
Apparently the medicine will make me really hungry and thirsty so Management will need to watch their dinner! So now it’s my turn to be on sick leave.
Yours in Unity
Sir Bailey of the Sore Head
We love to hear that when our members find themselves in unfortunate circumstances it all works out for the best.
PS: We’re always the boss. 😂
Hi everyone
On Sunday morning I had another seizure so today I went to the ALLT (Association for lovely liver treats). I got more medicine and some pins and needles that they call acupuncture. I was a good boy for staying reasonably still for 10 minutes and I got lots of treats. Hopefully this will get me back on track again.
Anyway back to the couch for a nap.
Sir Cooper of the Waggy Tail
I love being back on my couch.
And after one last sunrise, we’re on our way home. Til next year brothers.

Hi folks we’ve had a busy few days. We saw some sights and lights in Bendigo and Echuca and are now back in SA. We’ve experienced the four seasons of Victoria of rain, wind, cold and cloud! It was very pretty though. Today is our last day with our brothers for a while. Hopefully we can have some swims.
Sirs Bailey, Cooper, Hunter and Leo
Hi Everyone!
We’ve had a few adventures including a storm, some sights, some treats and some walks.
Johanna beach was so much fun. We didn’t get any pics but there was a little freshwater run off to the beach which we played in and practiced running up and down the sand walls.
We went for a long walk up a steep hill and saw a foggy view of Melbourne .
We passed through our birthplace of Ballarat and are continuing to explore Victoria.
In the meantime we continue to get a lot of pats coz let’s face it - we’re cute!
Oh and the chocolate factory was good and we got some of Management’s lunch!
Sirs Bailey, Cooper, Hunter and Leo
Someone turned 6 today!
Happy Birthday Sir Bailey!!
Hi folks
It’s been a busy few days from Rawnsley to Mount Gambier to onto the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. We had a play at the dog park in Mount Gambier and then today we went to an ice creamery and a cafe where we were all very good boys. There were a lot of places we weren’t allowed so we hung out the windows and got plenty of pats.
Here’s to exploring
Sirs Bailey, Cooper, Hunter and Leo
Union proceedings have been running more smoothly since Sir Hunter told Sir Bailey off for hu***ng. Although Sir Bailey did not appreciate the 4wding / driving that Management did today. But the views were good and we got some chimkin. The flies are going away and all is good!

Sir Bailey here, I should be happily catching up with my brothers after not having seen them for 18 months but I’m too busy being a jerk, trying to hump them at every opportunity and then whining and carrying on when I’m not allowed to.
Mrs Management is very displeased with me and said I’m squandering my opportunities and hopes I come to my senses soon.
Mrs Management got up for 2 seconds so I now have her seat.
Hi Members
We’re taking a hard earned break. The last couple of days we’ve been to a lot of places.
We went for a walk on the Whyalla jetty which is round and really nice. Then we played in a water playground in Cowell, had a swim in Tumby Bay and a nice dinner in Port Lincoln where we got to sit outside with outdoor heaters.
Today we had nice swims at Coffin Bay where we rolled in black sand and got absolutely filthy!
Next we went out for lunch. They allow dogs outside so we made the most of it and the friendly staff gave us a water bowl each, we got some of Management’s food and the Managers at the table next to us saw our sad eyes and gave us some of their food too. We were so good at our sad eyes and achieved so much.
Now we are in a nice campground where we got to play fetch in the rec room.
Life is good 😊
