During a time when people got dressed up to go out on a date; when gentlemen pulled up to a young lady's home; got out of the car; walked up to the door; knocked (or rang the bell)...maybe even presented flowers...a band like Carl Holmes and The Commanders was most likely the band of choice for the evening's festivities. So if you partied in Philadelphia, New York, California, Italy, France, Moroco and other hot spots worldwide in the 50's thru 70's... you may have had the chance to experience the music of Carl Holmes with the Commanders or performing and recording as Carl Sherlock Holmes.
