Hello! I'm Meghana. By day, I work towards sustainable problem-solving in Indian society and designing processes to navigate the polarization we face in this world.

One such process, is art!

Art is a medium of expression and communication, not only with others but with oneself. Painting gives us the pause we are so in need of in our daily lives, but can't seem to manage. A guided practice could also help us self-reflect and reconnect with ourselves.

Activating our creative side also catalyses our rational thinking, and an attitude of abundance because of which we are not stifled by limitations and yet, are pragmatic in our outlook.

I find serenity through my painting, which I've been honing since I was 14.

This has already taught me a lot about discipline, finding a style and painting for myself

Day 3/30

3rd forest landscape. The sky adds immense beauty to these forest clusters on hills.

Makes me appreciate that even lightly wooded areas are also beautiful ✨

As a first timer at the inside of , I’m so so thankful for the support of a community of artists. I was about to drop off on day 2 and when I went into our facebook group and saw the comments and support of people who are on a similar journey, I felt more confident that I could push myself.

Tried an interesting patchwork look, unsure about it but community makes me want to keep going …

I almost was not going to paint yesterday but just starting made me feel so calm that I continued till I finished a couple of trees and tried to have fun with my practice …

Here’s the first painting of my forest series this week ✨

This reminds of the walkways in forest treks, in somewhat pleasant treks I used to take with family and friends in Ireland

Thought to keep this composition simple, with multiple layers of green - starting with Phthalo green, and ranging till sap green with payne’s grey.

So excited (and nervous) to tell you that I’ll be exploring my skills in watercolor through a daily painting challenge! I plan to hit 31 days with the community of wonderful artists at the but I thought I’ll start small 🙈

I’ve never done anything like this before… never painted every single day because I had limiting voices in my head telling me to not waste material, that small sized paintings are not worth it, and that it’s impossible to make time for this everyday.

This is exactly why I new I should do this challenge. Apart from discipline, I find it might be freeing, and best case scenario - actually jnstill some self love :)

𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙗𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩:

I chose forests for this week because I was inspired by a request from a potential client to create a large format dark-dense forests landscape in oil for her beautiful home.

The best way to centre myself, practice and gain confidence is to practice various techniques and see if I hit the right energy with one of my pieces this week.

This abstract wet-in-wet seascape was an interesting challenge for me (someone who is inherently a control freak 😂)

It’s so interesting that letting go of control and letting water flow in it’s natural state adds beauty and realism to a seascape.
