The MAP project is coming to an end. For more than two years, partners from Italy, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Greece worked on the topic of perinatal violence (domestic violence during pregnancy and one year after birth). The project would not have been successful without the cooperation of the hospitals and especially their Obstetrics and Gynecology Departments that actively participated in the piloting of the developed screening tool. Quite logically, in Ruse, this partnership grew into a long-term idea with the signing of two partnership protocols with the management of the MEDIKA University Hospital (Dr. Ivelen Yotsov) and KANEV University Hospital (Mr. Ivan Ivanov) with the manager of 'Dinamika Centre' Association (Mrs. Deana Dimova). The partnership protocols marked the beginning of the coordinated ongoing initiatives to develop the capacity of hospital employees, in the direction of recognising and treatment of the phenomenon of perinatal violence in the territory of the Ruse region, as well as unifying efforts to increase sensitivity to the problem.

📰 Our valued colleague and ally, lawyer Zoran Stankić Rupnik, recently wrote an insightful article in Slovenian professional magazine Odvetnik (Lawyer). The article follows his participation in a national conference titled Parenting and Contact in Cases of Domestic Violence. In the article, he presented the MAP project, where he participated with his expertise within Zavod Odprta Dlan.

Metka Kuhar, redna profesorica socialne psihologije in terapevtka.
