Work-at-Home Boss Mama Podcast
Do you dread the thought of dropping your baby off at daycare again? Ready to create your own hours and build a business you actually enjoy?
Join me, Sabra Gilbert, on the Work-at-Home Boss Mama Podcast every other Friday, where I will help you create a
Are you ready to be there for every milestone and create your own boss mama empire?
It is 10000% possible! You don't have to miss the first steps, bath time, or trying new foods and activities.
If you want to, you get to be there for it!
I'll always be the first to admit, the beginning had some tears and struggles. But I've gotten to do what I always wanted; be the business owner who gets to take my girls on picnics, to gymnastics, and horseback riding lessons all while running a badass virtual assistant business in the background!
When I was creating my own business, I knew that I couldn't get through a normal course. And to be 100% honest, even though I've bought some different courses since, I've never finished them.
They don't work with my neurodivergent brain.
Which is why I offer a coaching program instead of a course now.
I had such a block about offering my own course, though helping fellow mama's is exactly what I feel called to do.
For the same price as a course, I offer 1:1 coaching with a structured method instead to help you build the business of your dreams in a way that fits your brain and your unique dreams.
DM me for more details!
It's a brutally honest type of day today.
When I started this IG, I promised myself I wasn't just going to show the good. I was going to show it all. Cause being a work-at-home boss mama isn't always easy.
Being a WAHBM who has a child who barely sleeps and has barely slept then herself for the last 19 months. 😭
I'll be 100% honest that one of the hardest parts of this last year has been the sheer unpredictability.
. . my nanny changed her availability. . . then again. . .and again . . my entire year timeline goals changed within the first quarter . . my nanny then quit to do something more in her education field
And now I'll be honest that I'm completely burnt out. Between not sleeping, and balancing VA clients, and 2 also neurodivergent kiddos, and 5 animals and taking on the bulk of the home management, and really starting to homeschool.
It's been a year.
So I wanted to be honest with you that it hasn't been easy lately to make sure that podcast episodes are published or that anything is going out on social media. Because this has been last on my priority list.
And sometimes, seasons of your business will feel like that. We don't want it to, but unless we have insane systems set up (which I did not, because I ADHD winged it) this is bound to happen here and there.
And no one can ever predict having a child who will not sleep for anything.
So my main message is exactly what I have needed to hear from others.
You are doing great prioritizing what you can right now. Even if it isn't what you had planned 7, 8, 12 months ago.
Follow what works for you right now. And if that is only planning month by month. Do it.
Social media will always be there for you to come back to.
Those episodes that are recorded, but you haven't posted yet, will still be in Google Drive a week from now.
But cuddles come above likes.
Your sensory needs come above staring at a screen to get show notes done.
Filling YOUR cup with what you enjoy comes above putting out content.
Do whatever is best for you RIGHT NOW mama. You've got this.
If you want to see what's been filling my cup these days, I've tagged my personal blog account if you love gardens and adorable kids.
New episode coming out tomorrow!
I know I’m off my usual schedule. First, the kiddos were sick with a Spring Cold and both snotty & miserable.
Then, I got my COVID Booster and got knocked on my b***y all weekend.
So last weeks episode is coming to you tomorrow, and you will have a new episode on Friday as well!
Then we will hopefully return to our regular schedule! ;) as long as the kiddos don’t throw another wrench in my plans!
Have you left a review on your favorite podcast listening app yet?!? If not, head on over today! Every time you share or leave a review, you are helping more mamas find this podcast to help them as well!
🥰🥰Thank you for the Love🥰🥰

Refocus on why I created my business and why I was wanting to help all of you again.
I was tired of hustle, hustle, hustle.
I’m recapturing slow Biz growth and ditching doing 101 million ways to get your attention.
And trust me, I don’t mean anything negative to you. I think I just got caught up listening to too many voices that weren’t mine, and weren’t yours. And then I wasn’t helping anyone.
But I’m back. I’ve restructured. Still have a few more things to do, but I’m excited with where this is going.

You can find us there, as well as anywhere you listen to podcasts. We are so excited for you to listen in!
How do you meal plan?
There are a thousand ways! But I want to share with you how my husband and I do it!
We digitally plan all of our meals! This way, we can both see it and have the schedule with a tap of a button at all times (we keep Google Calendar on our phones, ipad, and computer!)
I set up our favorite meals on repeat in different intervals - some weekly, some every three weeks, some monthly. Breakfast is the same every week. Lunches cycle every 3-4 days, and include leftovers from dinner.
We frequently make enough dinner for one or two lunch leftovers and sometimes if I'm up for it, I plan out snack time for the girls as well. This helps us stay organized, know what to shop for, and have a constant rotation of meals for our family!

One of my favorite ways to get tons of work done?
Batching tasks!
WIth ADHD, sometimes it can be great to bounce around, but more often than note, I like the structure of having things planned out and already done.
Some things that I batch:
- Podcast episodes - I actually have the entire first quarter pre-planned 😱
- Reels - I struggle doing these day to day, so I try to pre-plan some and film all in one day!
- Social Media - I have a spreadsheet and scheduling software to get it all planned out - one of my favorites is Later!
Do you batch work on tasks? What are your favorite ways to get lots of work done?
How cool is it that all accounts have the link story feature now?! I know I'm pumped about it!

Figuring out your ideal client can be tricky. But it's so much more important than it sounds! On my latest podcast episode, I talk through why this could be such a pivotal part of your business from knowing which skills you need to learn to knowing where to discover more clients - that's what everyone wants when they start, right!
Plus, there are 4 questions to ask yourself to get started. Listen in today and also grab the workbook so you can get started!
I created my podcast and the academy because I knew I wasn't the only new mom that needed to find a way out of the 9 to 5 grind that was making me so unhappy.
Gemma (my firstborn, in the photo is my second!) was just 7 weeks old when I went back to work.
Going back to work was a nightmare. Just my second day of work, I received a text that my 7 week old
SEVEN WEEK OLD
was getting kicked out of her daycare. Supposedly because she wouldn't take a bottle (which she had been doing fine for my husband, and when my mom emergency came down to help us because we had no childcare, she did fine for my mom as well).
And the problems kept piling up from there.
I was asked to take on extra duties, but not given a raise.
I was asked to come in on my days off.
I was kept for 10 hour days (which usually meant 12 hour days away from my daughter).
By the time Gemma was five months old, I was completely miserable and knew that I needed to find something else.
I know I'm not alone in how all this went down.
So I created a podcast and a course for other mamas just like me.
To escape the misery and find freedom.
