Handmade embroidery patterns to know and love Christ more
If you aren't singing when stitching our newest design, you aren't doing it right. š
(If you don't know what I am talking about, look up "Jesus Christ is the Same, Slugs and Bugs" on YouTube)
"When I fear my faith will fail
Christ will hold me fast
When the tempter would prevail
He will hold me fast"
What a comforting and precious reminder this design holdsāone I need so deeply. Praise God that it doesnāt say, 'When I fear my faith will fail, I will hold myself fast,' but rather, CHRIST will hold me fast.
Lord, help me to embrace that truth today, trusting in Your strength and not letting my own doubts overshadow Your unwavering promise.
šŖ” Hebrews 13 is now in the shopālink in biošŖ”
šŖ» When I chose Hebrews 13:8 for our September release, I didnāt realize how much I would come to lean on this verse in the coming weeks. But in recent days, I have been finding myself repeating this verse often, remidining myself of the deep truth of Christās unchanging nature and his steadfast love. Praise God that no matter what way the winds blow or how today turns out, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
This is one of the beautiful things about stitching Godās Word: how it naturally leads to memorization. So while I have always primarily encouraged reading the scripture, meditating on the scripture, and praying the scripture while you stitchāwhat we need to add now is: memorize the scripture.
Iād love to see you join others along in the journey of stitching the Word of God. Got questions? Iād love to help! Send me a DM or leave a comment below. š
September is quickly approaching which means itās time to start giving you little peeks into the newest release. Give me your guessesāhymn, Old Testament, or New Testament? Share below! šāØ
ā Does your fabric look like this? If so, stop and read my advice below!!
āØ New to embroidery? Hereās my #1 tip: keep your fabric taut! āØ
Saggy fabric can lead to difficult stitching and messy results. Hereās how to avoid it:
1ļøā£ Use a quality hoop. Cheap hoops can slip, making it hard to keep things tight.
2ļøā£ Listen for the drum. If your fabric sounds like a drum when you flick it, youāre ready to stitch!
3ļøā£ Hands off the fabric. Avoid pressing downātry using a lap stand to keep your work smooth.
Got questions? Iām here to help! Happy stitching! š§µš

š āHow do you find time to stitch?ā
This is a question I get a lotāand I can understand why! Life can feel like a whirlwind between kids, work, church, and everything else on your to-do list. But if youāve been dreaming of picking up (or getting back to) embroidery, here are a few tips to make it happenāeven with your busy
schedule.
š Start Small: Even 10-15 minutes a day adds up! Pick up your needle and thread during your kidsā naptime or while theyāre occupied with a snack.
š Portable Projects: Keep a small project in your bag. Embroidery is perfect for those little pockets of timeālike waiting during the school carline!
šØ Involve the Family: If your kids are curious, let them try a simple stitch. Their curiosity may turn into a chance to share a hobby that you both love!
š Quiet Time: Treat your stitching as an addition to your quiet time. If youāve been around here for any length of time, you know I always encourage stitchers to do 3 things while they stitchālisten to Scripture, pray Scripture and meditate on Scripture. So while stitching an Abide project will not replace your quiet time, it can be a great companion!
Remember that it's not about making a piece as fast as you can, but about the joy of creating something while also meditating on Godās Word.

One of the difficult aspects of being off of social media is not getting my regular one-on-one connection with some of you! Seeing your work, troubleshooting your WIP questions, encourages me and motivates me to keep going.
So while I didnāt have that aspect of encouragement during this last month, I did get to read some of your sweet reviews you left on the website! Here are a few of my favorites from our most recent design, Psalm 103. š¤©
šš»āThis is yet another gorgeous design and thoughtfully put-together kit from Abide Embroidery. The kit is very complete and always comes with a QR code that leads to excellent videos. I love to combine my craft time with meditation and worship!! Thank you š, Abideā£ļøāāLori K.
šš»āIf you struggle with being still, more time focusing on Gods word, go no further! This has given me peace and rest. You canāt go wrong with Sarahās beauty part work, colors and domination to her patterns. This is by far one of my favorites. Thank you Sarah for sharing your gift with the world.āāM.B.
šš»āThis is another beautiful pattern by Abide Embroidery. It is a lovely addition to my growing collection of Sara's designs, and coordinates well with the others. It is also perfect to be a stand alone pattern. The colors are a gorgeous palette to go with just about any decor. The directions are easy to understand, and any new stitches are well explained in video tutorials. Although it may look like a pattern for experienced stitchers, beginner stitchers would have a great time stitching this piece as well.āāLaura B.
š Well, hey there!
Itās been over a month since I last logged onto Instagram, and in that time, we've celebrated birthdays and anniversaries, explored the beautiful sights of Savannah, Georgia, and Moab, Utah, and cherished the final days of summer before starting our fourth year of homeschooling.
These past weeks have been filled with joy and adventure, but they've also been a time of serious reflection. I've been thinking a lot about the effects social media has had on me (whether consciously or not), and while I'm still figuring out where I stand, this breakāand the brief time I've spent backāhas revealed so much to me.
Iām not sure how this time of reflection will affect my presence on social media, but I do foresee more boundaries put in place for myself to help ward off the influences and feelings that social media stirs up in me.
In some ways, this may sound like I am coming back more discouraged than before. But I hope you actually see the oppositeāthat my heart is incredibly encouraged and is being prodded to think deeper about the ways I spend my time.
If youāve made it this far and arenāt drowning in the wet blanket Iāve thrown over youālet me share some fun news! With this time away I was able to work on the final 3 designs of 2024 and let me just say, they are stunning! The newest should be releasing shortly with the final two coming out in November!
If you want to stay up to date with newest releases, be sure to sign up for our email list (link found in my profile).
P.S. Have you ever been to Moab before?! Because WOW! Hands down one of my favorite places I have visited in the US.
š After my first year in business I learned the importance of taking regularly scheduled breaks. For me, this looks like taking a month off of social media twice a year (July & December), and sometimes taking a few weeks off in between.
āļø As I prepare to take a month off of social media, I am eagerly awaiting more intentional time in God's Word, time with my 4 littles and a week-long trip celebrating Ivan and Iās 10-year anniversary in Moab, Utah (I am BEYOND stoked about this one)!! š
Business will still be operating as normal and orders will still be shippingāyou just wonāt hear from me here on IG! If youād like to keep up with Abide, our email subscribers will still be getting weekly emails with all the fun tips and tricks that we love to talk about! If you want to get on that list, be sure to check out the link in my bio! š
See you again in August!! š

šGrab yours todayālink in stories and bio!.
Itās a few days post- and I am still struggling to put my words together to describe what an amazing time we had!
My body is still aching, my throat is sore and my brain is still in a bit of a fogābut my heart? It is bursting with joy!
While itās absolutely amazing and jaw dropping that we came home with only a few kits left in our inventoryāwhat was even more amazing were the stories we heard!
We heard stories from previous Abide stitchers who have stitched projects for loved ones going through chemotherapy or for a friend who had lost a spouse. And we heard stories from first time stitchers who wanted to buy a project for someone starting a new journey in life, or going through a particularly hard trial.
Every story stuck with me and honestly moved me to tears. I am so incredibly thankful that we have a chance of being a part of someoneās story to help encourage them and point them to Christ. Itās a blessing that I pray that Iāll never forget.
Thank you to everyone who came out and for everyone who stopped by!! ā¤ļø

š Nothing gets me more pumped than a first time stitcher taking on a new endeavor! Way to go Riley for trying something new and in the process, spending more time with the Lord! š
šAs I was sipping on my coffee and reading my Bible this morning I heard the big kidsā alarm go off and I prepared myself for the chaos. The screaming down the stairs, the jumping up and down, the pushing and shoving to get to mom firstāall the things that make me wish the alarm would have gone off just 10 minutes later. But rather than the ambush I expected, one single child gently came down the stairs. He ran to me with joy and a huge smile that instantly melted my heart.
It quickly reminded me that these days wonāt last. There will be a day when our little ones wonāt run to me in the morning anymore asking for hugs and snuggles.
Donāt get me wrong, I am looking forward to the joy of parenting pre-teens and teens and the new joys that come with that, but I also want to make sure I am soaking up these days as they are and not wishing them away.
The Lord has provided the mercies for a new day, how will I make the most of what he has given?
"But now thus says the Lord,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
'Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.'"
āIsaiah 43:1
Our Fear Not design will always be one of my top 3 favorite designs! And I love how much y'all love it too! Have you had a chance to stitch this one yet? Share below!

āBe still and know that I am GodāāPsalm 46:10
We are so familiar with this verse thay it is easy to forget what it means. We have a God who is in control of everythingānothing surprises him, nothing is just luck, he doesnāt get caught off guard when something doesnāt go according to OUR plan. But instead he is in control. And with that assurance comes freedomāfreedom to be still and trust God.
Are you still? Are you trusting that the God of the universe is in control and that you can trust his good plans? I pray that this will be so for you and me today!

āļøLast Summer a friend sent me a photo of someone sitting on the beach in her bathing suit while working on an embroidery project. I canāt help but chuckle because I canāt fathom the wind or sand doing her any favors in that situation BUT I do commend her dedication to what is probably her favorite craft!
š¤ Where is your favorite place to stitch? Or better yet, what is the strangest place you have ever stitched?
Summer is quickly approaching and it couldnāt be a better time to pick up a new hobby! However, starting something new can be pretty intimidatingāfrom the cost, to fear of the unknown, and of course your own time constraints!

Whether you can relate more to the rule-follower or the wayward child in the story of the prodigal son, we could all use a chance to better understand grace and forgiveness.
The story of āCharlie and the Preschool Prodigalā by Ginger Blomberg offers an engaging retelling of the well known Bible story that will help open up a conversation with your children that will benefit both parents and children.
You wonāt regret this addition to your childrenās library!

If Iām honest, itās difficult for me to find time to stitch outside of creating new designs. That is, until recently when I discovered my favorite Sunday pastimeāporch stitching. š
Every Sunday when my kids have rest time, Ivan and I will sit down on the patio and spend that time together. He will be reading a book and Iāll be stitchingāstopping to interrupt one another when we have a random thought that just has to be spoken (okay, okayāitās just me who does that).
And since there are a handful of designs that I no longer have the originals of, it feels like the perfect project to work on without feeling like itās related to work whatsoever.
This last Sunday I started to work on stitching our Isaiah 53 design. With it retiring as an embroidery kit, it felt like the perfect project to start working on right now.
What are you working on right now?
Friends, last week was incredibly overwhelming.
Monday I found myself staring at a blank screen for over an hour simply trying to figure out what to write for social media. I felt anxious, overwhelmed, not good enough, and overall discouraged. Finally, I threw in the towel and said, āForget it, Iām taking the week off!ā
I deleted social media on all my devices and stepped away as much as I could. I let the team take care of customer service and other engagements and I didnāt worry about content, new designs, or anything else.
And you know what? It was freeing. I desperately needed that break but I wasnāt willing to admit it until everything around me was starting to fall in. But what I was reminded of in just one week away was that I am a creature of LIMITS who lives in a culture that says we are LIMITLESS.
I love what Christine Gordon says in her article titled āReceive the Gifts of Limitsā (The Gospel Coalition). She says,
āWe are the dependent; God is the provider. This is a comfort to our weary souls the way a good parentās strength is a comfort to a small child. We donāt have to strategize and strive every waking moment. We can relax, trusting Godās strength and knowing that he is always at work. . . .
āWe all have limits, and we cannot ignore them. Theyāre not a sign of our sin, but of our humanityāa gift from a loving Father. Take time to consider your limits carefully, whether seasonal, physical, emotional, or otherwise. Embrace them, and ask the Spirit to show you how to trust him as you live within your limits.ā
The whole article is fantastic and worth the read. But even if you only read these two quotes above, I hope you walk away knowing that you canāt do it all. You are a finite creature who desperately needs a Creator who will provide you with rest. And we have that in Christ.

I am so excited to announce this monthās giveaway. Iāve teamed up with Harvest House Publishing to give away FIVE copies of āParenting with Hopeā by Melissa Kruger and FIVE copies of our newest digital guide, āChrist Will Hold Me Fastā.
