Nonny Cakes

Trying to decide on this year's competition flavor. Either a death by chocolate cake with South Mountain - Triple Chocolate Cold Brew Coffee Moonshine or peanut butter banana chocolate chip cake with Big Nick's - Peanut Butter Banana Moonshine.

I've always been a fan of the TV show Moonshiners. When I moved to NC I always wanted to do moonshine still cake. When I got the opportunity to make a 70th birthday cake for legendary moonshiner JB Rader, I couldn't have been more excited. What a great guy, so kind and generous.

It's hard to tell from the photos but this cake did have a copper shine to it and some wondered if it was a small still. I had so much fun making this cake and attending his birthday party.

This cake was done for the City of Clearwater's 90th anniversary. This cake was so much fun to make. My inspiration are those cute comic type tourist maps you get. It had a little bit of everything on it. My favorite parts were the pirate ship and the coastguard C-130.

This cake was done in my first year of decorating. It was a challenge and fun all at the same time.
The event was Launa's birthday. At the time she was a DJ of the morning show, "Catfish and Launa in the Morning" in the Tampa Bay area.

Business has been slow so I decided to enter a baking contest. I won 1st place.
Moonshine cake - Drunken Dutch Apple Pie Cake with eggnog cream cheese and streusel filling. Cake was baked with JB Rader's - Honey Crisp Apple Moonshine. The center of the cake is filled with spiked apple pie filling.

My favorite time of year is almost here... pumpkin everything!
