The story behind the song part 4 Sometimes I struggle with my ability to speak, write and sing in 2 languages. I never know if I should write in English, in French, both? I think sometimes I lose my identity in the middle. And then I take a big breath and quickly realise that Being bilingual means I can choose the best way to express how I feel, my emotions and I have more words and expressions to choose from. This is why translating the lyrics is a tricky exercise as you can be a bit lost in the translation and lose the essence of that feeling. The story behind the song part 3 I wrote many versions of the song, in English, then in French, re-wrote what I thought would be the last version, at least 3 times and even tried different things whilst in the booth. I came back home with the final recording and still not 100% satisfy with what I was listening to. I couldn't put my finger on it. Finally, whilst listening to it one last time on my way to my last session at the studio to have it mastered, it became obvious. From that moment I knew, I felt relieved and appeased. I pushed the door, and told my music producer @2cam2soap : let's get rid of the last 40 seconds of the song 😅 Meaning the song will end on the instrumental break, led by the cello, leaving my voice, lyrics, message, dedication hanging in the air, without finding its echo in a last pre-chorus and chorus What do you think about the ending?
