Filmmaking Update:

Last I said, I was continuing to create my own cinematic language, as the traditional film structure (while good) is a bit of a bore for me to write.

I now have a language and structure I feel confident attempting.

I have an entire script and strong vision, filming will begin ASAP.

It's a short film, falls into the horror genre, and will be in color.

Project Title:
"Religious Lard"

I filmed this back in February on the Oregon coast during the king tides.

It's an abstract piece of slow cinema.

Synopsis:
Allow the rougher waters to reach the shore, they will return to the sea of their own volition.

A metaphorical take on the emotions we feel and find difficult to sit with.

Things have been quiet.
So let's update things.

-Currently, I'm working on some micro films in which I asked people what scares them.
-I'm writing horror movie.
-Lastly, I'm in the process of creating a hybrid storytelling method that still needs some work.

Much is happening, but all the stuff is under wraps for now.

3 filmmaking updates:

1.ill be releasing a short avant garde film within the next few days. its a contemplative film regarding the sea and the self, and is part documentary.

2.a festival film about a ghost ive been working on is nearly complete, and i have some very cool announcements for that one ill make known in the trailer.

3.lastly, for my film, "Her Name Was Gwen", its been given new life, and soon enough ill be able to share the news.

i released 5 films this year.
from experimental and horror, to drama and thriller, ive pushed myself to achieve the goal i set at the end of 2020. the goal was to reach for more. and i did. 5 films in a year is a record for me.

im going to set a new goal for my filmmaking in 2022. ill post what i hope to achieve on january 1st.

this was an extremely creative year, and i only plan on continuing that into the next year.

ive begun recording the score for my next short film 👹

to accept "good enough" as an artist is to compromise vision, and to share a compromised vision is to have a diluted voice.

refine and polish. dont settle for dull gems.

News Regarding New Movies:

my next film will release in january.

there may be a micro film here and there.

but right now, my focus will be perfecting the concept, score and visuals of the one releasing in 2022.

where im at in terms of progress:
-the screenplay is completed, revised, and im satisfied with it.
-some of the visuals have been created, but none of the scenes have been shot.
-there is no music yet, but ill be using new software to create it.

as of now, i need to buy an urchin 👹

the cinerama is one of the best theaters in seattle and cultivates creativity and a healthy atmosphere with a respect for film.
this deserves to be declared a historical building.

"Her Name Was Gwen" (2021) will have it's private screening tomorrow morning in a theater alongside other local filmmaker's short films.

being one of the least avant-garde pieces Ryan's made, the creativity went into other areas of the process, such as using no instruments for the score, shooting in a 4:3 aspect ratio, along with other things to create a unique atmosphere.

this is the first suspense film rynegade has released, as well as the first story Ryan's written with the japanese writing style, "Jo-Ha-Kyu" which is a 5 act plot structure.

the movie will release on YouTube tomorrow.
