This is an update to those who follow my YouTube channel: I have to apologise, but recently I have stepped back from YouTube as I received a few comments about my lack of subscribers to the channel. I shouldn’t have let this affect me, but I did and this caused me to obsess over getting more. I even tried sub for subs which didn’t work out in the end, so I looked for advice from others.
To put it bluntly, the responses I received were that my content was mediocre at best and if I was ever going to “make it”, I would have to increase the quality of nearly everything I am doing. Being a “good genuine guy” and “enjoying creating content” aren’t enough apparently.
However, I disagree with not enjoying what I’m doing. I never started the channel to make it, I started because I enjoyed doing it and I wanted to. Yes, I can make improvements, but that will all come with time.
So, to summarise, I thought about stopping with the channel altogether, but I’m not. From now on, I need to focus on the positives and create content which I will enjoy doing, not for the sake of making it. I got caught up with what other people said I should do and not what I wanted to do, so from now on, I’m gonna create content based on what I enjoy.
