This bilingual online teaching programme has so far attracted over 1,200 participants, the majority of whom are young people facing significant challenges in accessing content related to democracy in Africa🌍

🎉 We successfully wrapped up our recent panel at , discussing promoting through . 📣 Moderated by Andrew Songa, our AU Engagement, at the European Partnership for Democracy.

Ms Caroline Gaita, Director of Mzalendo, shared excellent insights on civic tech for citizen engagement in law-making, Eddah Jowah from SIVIO Institute discussed online trackers for accountability, and Rose Astou DIOUF from W-A-N-E-P talked about digital platforms to mitigate electoral violence.

We are happy to share with you some key statements:

🗣 Civil Society: Empower citizens through knowledge sharing and collaboration. Innovate in your approaches, including resource mobilization.

🏛 Member States: Uphold Africa's shared values like . Enable civic space online and offline, and work with CSOs for transparency and accountability.

🤝 AU: Boost state compliance and transparency. Collaborate with civil society on citizen engagement. Provide human rights guidelines as we embrace AI and new tech. Establish a digital governance cluster and support a continental community of practice.
