Affirming Mental Health Care for the Community by the Community

We seek to understand our clients' stories so that we can help them write the next chapter and accomplish their goals. By framing your life in terms of a story, we can see all the pieces come together to bring you to where you are today, and then work together to change the pieces that aren't working for you. It is our goal to help you review the past chapters of your story and explore how you wan

Meet one of our clinicians: Farrah Bonnot, M.S., LPC Associate - Supervised by Jett C. Roberts, MS, LPC-S

Hi everyone, my name is Farrah and my pronouns are she/her/hers. My passion lies in helping survivors of trauma and I am deeply invested in serving LGBTQIA, polyamorus, consensual non-monogamy, kink, and all s*xual minority communities. I am also s*x work allied and provide non-judgmental support for individuals who are, or have been in the s*x industry. I believe counseling is a collaborative effort between the clinician and the client. My methods center on a CBT-based approach to reaching personal goals, processing depression and anxiety, with a special focus on establishing and maintaining boundaries. I am supervised by Jett C. Roberts, MS, LPC-S.

When not seeing clients I help to foster cats in my local community while pursuing my Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy. When school doesn’t steal all my time, I also enjoy playing tabletop RPG, video games, reading, and playing roller derby. I am also working on completing a pair of full tattoo sleeves that are awesome.

From Leftist Autie "Consent is not just about s*x. Consent can be given or withheld for things like: touching, hugging, kissing, high fives, etc; receiving complements (gendered or not), comments, or questions about my person, clothing, or identity; and more.
Consent is a topic for all ages: children get to consent or not to being touched, hugged, kissed, or held by peers or adults (regardless of familial status), and should be taught how to set their own bodily boundaries and how to ask for consent to touch others.
While this infographic is helpful, I think it does a disservice to treating consent as a purely s*xual exchange, when it is so much more."

Meet our Practice Director: Garreth Baldwin, M.S.

Hi everyone! My name is Garreth and my pronouns are they/them/theirs. I have had an interest in mental health since my first attempt at undergraduate class and my journey of finding my own identity led me to see how underserved so many people are by the current mental health field, especially in traditionally conservative areas like Texas. Through my background in sociology, I saw the systemic discrimination that people face on a daily basis which led me to pursue a degree in marriage and family therapy and graduating in December of 2020. The pairing of these two areas means that I put special emphasis on practicing from a social justice informed, identity affirming, and anti-racist lens. While many mental health professionals may see problems as being within a person or a relationship, I maintain that it is important to understand and address the social and cultural contexts that each person’s story exists in.

Outside of the mental health world, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Running friends through a campaign of Dungeons and Dragons has always been enjoyable and is a strong influence on my view of each person’s experience as a story. I also enjoy reading (primarily fantasy and sci-fi novels) and cooking. My partner and I were married just before lockdown 2020 and we currently have 3 cats and a Great Pyrenes that we recently adopted from a rescue. It isn’t unusual for one or more of them to appear during sessions and say hello.
