So proud to have helped a little bit through a donation (and tattoo)! It was an amazing day and you could really feel closeness and care for our Ukrainian community in .

Thank you for letting me participate Larissa Poho - Visual Art 💛💙

On Monday May 9th, tattoo studio crown & serpent hosted a tattoo flash day for Ukraine, organized by resident artist Larissa Poho - with all proceeds and donations going towards providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine via Cobblestone Freeway Foundation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In addition to Ukrainian-themed tattoos, we sold merchandise, hosted Dimensions Door Witchery and other Ukrainian vendors such as Stand With Ukraine.EDM, and organized a silent auction.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The event was so well-attended that we were unable to tattoo everyone who showed up!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thanks to all our clients’ support, we managed to raise $10,500!

My heart is breaking for what is happening in Ukraine.

From February 1-15, for every purchase made through my Etsy shop, I will donate $5 to the
Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. They launched a public GoFundMe Campaign to raise $1.5 million for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Not everything is colourful and beautiful like pysanky in our shared Ukrainian history.

Unsure of Holodomor or what happened? Learn a bit more here:

▪️Holodomor occurred in a time of peace, not as a result of war or natural disaster. Stalin issued a series of policies in the early 1930s that led to genocide through starvation.

▪️Wheat and other grains were confiscated by the Communist government, and some sold as exports to fund Stalin’s Five-year Plan. Food was used as a weapon and 1/3 of all villages in Ukraine were blacklisted and blockaded.

▪️ Millions of innocent people died from starvation. 28,000 people died PER DAY at the height of Holodomor in June 1933. 31% of those who died were children under the age of 10.

▪️ Holodomor was covered up and denied for over five decades. In Canada, it was officially recognized as a genocide in May 2008.

Learning about these past atrocities can prevent them from happening again.

Eternal memory. Вічная Пам'ять.
