Post Workout Protein Shake!

This is my favorite thing to drink after working out. πŸ’ͺ🏽

1 cup of milk- (I used whole)
1 banana
1 scoop protein powder
Small tablespoon peanut butter (optional)

You should drink a protein shake or something similar 30 mins after your workout to optimize muscle growth. This is a great shake because it has the protein plus carbohydrates and potassium. Bananas are one of the best post workout snacks you can eat. It helps replenish your glycogen stores and your electrolytes.🍌🍌

FRUITS AND VEGETABLES:

Im pretty sure at one point in our lives our parent have told us β€œeat your fruits and vegetables.” But why is that so important???

An average person should be eating 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day.

They provide us with antioxidants, antiproliferatives which help with destroying free radicals that can damage our cells, provides us with energy after a good workout, gives our brain the things it needs to function at its best and so much more!!

If your like me, I have a love hate relationship with vegetables. I know they are so good for you, but sometimes I. Don’t. Want. To. Eat. Them. Some things that have helped me eat more veggies is putting them in smoothies, serving them with some hummus or a Greek yogurt dip. Baking or sautéing your vegetables with some salt and garlic amp the flavor up by 1000. It adds a little flavor which makes them more enjoyable!

I love fruit! It’s definitely my favorite of the two. I love anything from apples, to oranges, to pineapple, to berries. There are so many ways to enjoy them, in smoothies, with some yogurt, on its own or in a fruit salad!

I know it can be hard to get all the servings in, but try to shoot for one or two veggies/fruits at every meal and as a snack. Some is better then none so if you hate vegetables just eat more fruit, or if you don’t really like fruit, eat more veggies. Just try to find a way to get them in, because your body will be SO GRATEFUL!! Find fruits and veggies that you love and incorporate them into your diet. When your feeling a bit adventurous, find one you’ve never tried and go for it!

If you need that extra support and motivation, just let me know and I will be that for you!

What is wellness? Most of us think it’s all about diet and exercise, but it’s much more than that. Wellness aims to enhance our overall well being; emotionally, socially, and physically just to name a few.

Our brain and our heart need to be challenged. Whether it be forming bonds between others or going for a run, our bodies releases endorphins that helps us feel content. We just need to find the right source of them.

Exercise delivers oxygen to our brain and heart which then generates endorphins. It helps feel good in the moment, but allows us to strive in other areas of wellness.

It’s been so great helping my clients find ways to improve their health and physical wellness. And in the long run it I know it will improve the other aspects as well. πŸ™‚

Please let me know if I can help you on your quest to wellness πŸ™‚ It will be worth it in the end!
