We are super excited to be finally hosting our first book club!! We wish we could take some credit… but sadly we cannot so here is a message from our favourite visionary, Jana:

“Hello! I’m very excited to host the first ever short story book club at On Call! Short stories tend to be underrated, which is such a shame. I hope you’ll join me to talk about two stories by a Ukrainian/Russian writer Isaac Babel.

Isaac Babel was born in Odessa (Russian Empire / present day Ukraine) in 1894. He was arrested by NKVD (secret police) in 1939 on fabricated charges of terrorism and shot.

We will discuss “Awakening” and My First Goose”. Both stories are available for free online. They are short so please read them before the meet up. Looking forward! Jana”

Here you can see our milkshake in its unnatural habitat. It has a high affinity to the acidic environment in the human stomach and usually makes it’s way to it within seconds. This was one of the rare occasions when it hung out in the cup long enough to be photographed. 😁
