Finally got around to finishing up my logos so I thought I’d walk you through a bit of my process and inspiration. When making logos it’s important to consider all the places that it might be used - Apparel, websites, icons, etc. To look great in all these applications it helps to have a few sizes and orientations of the logo with varying levels of detail.
The idea for the paintbrush and hatchet came from both my graphic style and my personality. Outside of being a designer, I consider myself to be an artist, a craftsman, and an adventurer with a little bit of finesse and a little bit of grit. The brush, and the blade. Most of my projects that actually use those tools will never make it on my website or Instagram, but they certainly play a role in the inspiration and problem solving for the ones that do.
I decided to lock the brush & blade up in two banner orientations that pay homage to vintage camp flags.
They represent the constant pursuit of adventure that I’m trying to embody in the brand, and quite honestly, they just look cool.

How do I put this nicely... this is not another terrible Instagram shirt. I did a deep dive into the world of t-shirt blanks to find Recover Sustainable Apparel Company. This extra soft, extra durable tee is manufactured in the USA from 100% USA sourced, recycled fabric in a fit that doesn’t feel like it’s made for SpongeBob (Boxy, get it?) It's also truly wrinkle free. Do your laundry. Put it in a pile on the floor for a few days. Put it on. STILL NO WRINKLES.
