What should you do with your balloons after your event is over?

There are so many ways we can make use out of our balloon decor beyond our special events. Most balloons are only used for a few hours or a day, might as well get as much use out of them as you can beyond that!

You can
🎈repurpose them around your home as decor
🎈use them for another event (they can last a really long time if properly cared for!)
🎈try selling them
🎈donate them to the venue your event is at
🎈donate them to a school / teacher for the classroom
🎈donate them to a retirement home

…and so much more! There are so many ways to give your decor a second life 😍

Why do balloons lose their shine in the sun? ☀️

What you’re seeing is a chemical reaction. Most rubbers, including the natural rubber latex used to make balloons, are biodegradable. It oxidizes (begins to break down) fastest when exposed heat or sunlight.

Many of you actually enjoy the “matte” look the balloons get after sun exposure, however it’s not ideal for all colours, such as the chrome pink shown here.

To get your balloons to keep the bright, shiny look longer, you can use a rubber protectant like Balloon Shine, Hi-Shine, or even Armor All does the trick! 🎈
