Fruit Trees For Sale!
We have the exciting opportunity to expand our current fruit tree varieties to include others in the coming years to get fresh local fruit to you sooner and later by expanding the season than we would have otherwise. To repurpose our current infrastructure without investing more into the setup we are going to be selling a limited amount of established and producing trees that include apples, plums, tart & sweet cherries, apricots, and nectarines. Example trees are in the pictures. Selling for $30/tree regardless of type and on a first come, first serve basis. So get in touch with us to put your name on the waitlist and I'll dig them in the spring. Asking $15 deposit to secure your waitlist spot.

A little late in posting and planting for that matter, but we would like to thank all of our wonderful customers for making 2023 a great year! Many new and returning faces made for some great conversations and excellent networking within our community! Although we will be closed for the winter season, we will leave you with some images of hope as we plant the 2024 garlic crop. Thanks to these fine gents for bearing near freezing temps to get the crop in the ground and to all you who made 2023 a great year. Cheers!
Mike and the Harvest Share crew!

There is an old saying that states something about enjoying the fruits of our labour, and this could not be any more true than harvesting our grapes for wine! A crisp morning stroll through the orchards has us feeling excited for what's around the corner. Public Service Announcment to all our friends ... our small and likely last patch of sweet corn is on and it is good! For those lucky enough to snag these limited cobs we are selling them for $5/dozen and for those not lucky to get their hands on these cobs we have another small patch that should be coming on at the very end of the season. So we will need mother nature to help us out!
Happy holiday Monday folks!
As we soak up the last long weekend of the summer, we shift our focus to kids going back to school. We have observed this with our staff and we can imagine this occurring in many of your households. Happy or sad, for those young kids meals and after school snacks our "boxless" subscription boxes have been a hit. A great way to provide nutrition to your family with a diversity of fruits and veggies. Everything in the box we sell on its own in case you're like Mike with a selective palate!
Enjoy school kids and rejoice once again parents!

What a glow up!
With all this heat, the cherries have been turning red and ripening. The biggest challenge is keeping deer and birds away from the fruit orchard π

April showers bring May flowers and our honey bees have been busy pollinating our tender fruit trees! In a few months we'll have different varieties of cherries, peaches, apples, pears, and apricots for sale.
Today managed to be a breath of fresh air for us after what felt like an eternity of miserable, cold, fall like weather this past week, we are sure you can all relate! Even our garlic was loving the gorgeous conditions today! For those unaware, the majority of Ontario garlic is planted in the fall and harvested early to mid summer. Get your recipes in order and your taste buds dancing for our garlic this season.
Fertility program ... complete, seed bed prep ... complete, first veggies of the season planted ... complete. Now we just have to let mother nature be kind in terms of frost and temperatures after emergence. Crops went into the ground yesterday were bulb onions, beets, leaf lettuce, spinach, and peas.
For sale apricots, sweet and tart cherries, peach, apple, and pear trees. Some two year old, already pruned cherries and peaches (should have some blooms this year and a couple fruit) but most are one year old nursery stock in excess from my planting this week. Available on dwarfing rootstock are tart cherries (evans and montmorency), sweet cherries (stella and lapins), peaches (harrow beauty and red haven), and apples (cox orange pippin and golden russet). On semi dwarfing rootstock are apricots (velvaglo) and pears (clapps favourite and Flemish beauty). Each tree is 50 bucks, first come first serve, pickup near Vienna.
Happy Weekend Folks!
We are super excited to announce the launch of a secondary platform on Instagram to help target a wider audience than those who only use Facebook or like Mike, Pigeon Carriers!
We are also excited to demonstrate the side not well observed from soil scratching to the moment you buy our produce and everything in between. Here we have Mike applying the spring fertility program in our tender fruit orchard, specifically our cherry block.
Happy Saturday Folks,
Our team was diligent in getting the first shipment of apple and pear tree replacements in the ground this past week and we have a few left over to sell. If anyone is interested please reach out sooner rather than later as in the past the excess have been sold fast. Each tree comes grafted to either a dwarfing rootstock or a semi-dwarfing rootstock to keep tree height and vigour manageable while also allowing for earlier cropping. Just keep in mind that most pome fruit require a pollinating partner so two varieties should be purchased together unless you already have a different variety planted at home. Each bare rooted tree is $50.
