Fungus full of psychedelic drugs could cause Indiana Brood X cicadas' butts to fall off A fungus with the same chemical as psychedelic mushrooms eats away cicadas' abdomens and alters their behavior in strange ways.

Look Out! Cicada Brood X. is set to hatch in many states throughout the midwest and east coast in just a couple weeks. These loud, crazy and sometimes abnoxious insects provide a "relief" for many prey species and are a huge boost to the food supply for land a water species, alike.

For those of you in Pennsylvania, things should start heating up on the morel front in the near future! 👇🏼

With the warm days, slightly cool nights, and rain over the weekend, morels should start popping up in Penn’s woods any day now.

If you’re a new morel hunter, make sure you can properly identify a morel before going out. Morels do have some poisonous look-alikes. Here are some helpful identification tips.

🍄 The cap of true morels is often longer than the stem and with the bottom of the cap being attached directly to the stem. The cap of "false morels" is attached at the top of the stem.

🍄 If you slice a true morel in half, it should be hollow from the tip of the cap to the bottom of the stem.

Disclaimer: Don’t eat a mushroom solely on the basis of what you read in this post. If you are new to mushroom hunting, go with an experienced mushroom hunter or use a field guide to accurately identify mushrooms.

This week's episode is semi-live turkey hunting action from Southern Illinois' youth season.

After getting fooled by a flock of turkeys the previous weekend, the second weekend of season was successful after the key adjustment to being where the birds wanted to be.
