DSF - Digital Sheet Forming DSF is a technique where a sheet is formed into the final workpiece by a series of small incremental deformations. The toolpath is generated from a digital file. Generally, the sheet is formed by a round tipped tool. The tool indents into the sheet by about 1 mm and follows a contour for the desired part. It then indents further and draws the next contour for the part into the sheet and continues to do this until the full part is formed. Traditionally, stamping presses or custom tools would be needed. DSF is more accessible, flexible, and cost-effective at low volumes. Octane Logo collaboration by @figur.io

The Octane Chip Guard is designed to keep swarf from entering your machine’s T-Slots. Our Chip Guard is made from high temperature Silicone formulated to withstand 550°F continuous and is resistant to harsh environments. No special tools are needed to install, simply trim sections to length with common tools, such as a utility knife, and place as needed.

The profile is flexible and can conform to slight variations in T-Slot widths common to T-Slot manufacture. Our 5/8” T-Slot Chip Guard is equivalent to 16mm.

The Contact Probe Offsetter

When placing workholding or workpieces, you shouldn't have to worry about avoiding an area of your table because of a contact probe.
