How to read Commitments of Traders Report?

The quickest way of reading the Cot Report is to go straight to the "NET POSITIONS" and compare the current numbers with the previous one. if the current numbers are greater than the previous number then Market is in Uptrend and one should not plan to sell. similarly if the current numbers are less than privious number then Market is in Downtrend and therefore one should not go long its that simple.
