बंगाल की इस घटना ने आज हमें एक बार फिर से सोचने पर विवश कर दिया है कि क्या सच में हम एक आदर्श समाज की ओर अग्रसर हैं जहाँ हमारी बेटियां स्वतंत्र और सुरक्षित महसूस कर सकें। जिस क्षण हम सपनों का जाल बुनना शुरू करते हैं कि हमारी बेटियां किस तरह से आगे बढ़ेंगी, उसी क्षण ऐसी घटनाएं हमारे अंदर तक हिला देती हैं। यह घटना उस पिता के डर को प्रतिबिंबित करती है जिसने अपनी बेटी को इस दुखद घटना का शिकार होते देखा।
इस मामले में आत्महत्या का तमगा लगाकर फाइल को बंद करने का प्रयास किया गया, लेकिन डॉक्टरों के प्रोटेस्ट और मीडिया के साथ-साथ समाज के जागरूक वर्ग के समर्थन से यह मुद्दा पुनः सामने आया। ऐसी घटनाएं हमें यह सोचने पर मजबूर करती हैं कि क्या हमारे समाज में महिलाओं के प्रति सच्ची संवेदनशीलता है।
हमारा सुझाव है कि ऐसी घटनाओं में, जहां महिलाओं के साथ अन्याय होता है, उन्हें बचाने के लिए आगे आए व्यक्तियों को न केवल सम्मानित किया जाए, बल्कि उन्हें दोषमुक्त भी किया जाए। यह निर्णय कानूनी प्रक्रिया के अनुसार होना चाहिए, ताकि न्याय की रक्षा हो सके और समाज में एक सकारात्मक संदेश प्रेषित हो।
