Which fuel do you use?🔥 Did you know that ‘paraffin’ is a broad category of fuel that actually includes isoparaffins (e.g. isopar-G), lamp oil and kerosene?! Although I have heard it used interchangeably most often for lamp oil.

I loved your responses to recent post on fuels in different countries! So, I plan to share more :D

…true! The most popular types of fuel used to spin fire across the globe are paraffin, white gas, and kerosene.

Different fuels are used largely due to accessibility, but in some cases because of personal preference.

It’s always important to understand what fuel you are using when spinning fire. This is particularly true if you are going to spin fire in a new country!

This is because different fuels have different properties, which causes them to behave differently.

Understanding fuel behavior is an important part of responsible fire safety practice!

Who here has felt 'in the zone' when dancing with their props?

🌺It is common to hear flow artists speak of how their practice has benefited their mental health. This may be because flow arts and dance are activities that generate ‘flow states’, sometimes referred to as being ‘in the zone’. According to positive psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, flow states have the potential to enhance the quality of life, making it more rich, intense and meaningful.

🌺The concept of flow, coined by Csikszentmihalyi, occurs when you become so immersed in an activity that nothing else seems to matter. You feel ‘a sense of exhilaration, a deep sense of enjoyment that is long cherished’. There is no attention left to worry about problems, and self-consciousness disappears. Afterwards, one is ‘enriched by new skills and fresh achievements’.

'Flow' by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi is a great read for anyone interested in learning more about this concept!!

for flow🔥🌺 Often we get super in our heads about how our flow appears from the outside. Sometimes, focusing on our inner feelings can help us let go and move with more ease and freedom.

Don't worry about planes, don't worry about what's 'right'... Try closing your eyes, maybe put on some music you love.

How does the music make you feel?
How do your muscles feel from the movement?
Feel the weight of your body pouring into the floor.
Feel your breathing. Your chest rising, falling.

These are things I think about when tapping into my body, especially when I'm flowing just for me. If you like, try it out, and let me know how it goes for you! :)
