Hi, have you met Jakob?
Jakob Mueller is a Sound Affects musician but he is also our Program Coordinator who books 50+ performances in Long Term Care every month of the year! Behind the scenes, Jakob is bringing quality live music to isolated older adults and other individuals on a DAILY basis.
Additionally, he himself performs throughout Sound Affects programs, bringing music and light in-person to the many individuals he helps throughout the year.
You may know Jakob from his many solo and band projects both locally and on the road or as a freelance graphic designer with impeccable taste.
Who better then to start our Artist spotlight series with?

As a special initiative, Sound Affects will announce our very first “Song To Sing All Year” tomorrow. We’ll pick one song, well known across generations to record for all of 2024 among our performances, our partner facilities, our musicians, and we’ll ask for your submissions so that we can release a harmonious music video at the end of the year that shows how music connects us all.
Stay tuned tomorrow to find out what song we’ll pick and don’t forget that your contributions right now, of any size, will help us reach our goal of bringing music to those who need it this season.
At Sound Affects, we're not just playing music; we're weaving a symphony of connection and hope for those hidden in our communities. We need our community's support!
Sound Affects started in 2020 and has been supporting isolated older adults in Long Term Care communities, at first from afar - check out this video! - all the way to 45 in-person performances in nursing homes and senior care per month this year.
We use grant funds and community donations to be able to pay our musicians fair compensation for their work with us and we're looking for Monthly Donors (ore one-time support) at any level at all to help us make a greater impact on Colorado communities.
We have our annual fundraiser coming up next week - September 5th at Odell Brewing 7-9, but if you can't join us, please do take a moment to learn about our programs and consider lending support. Every dollar goes a long way.

Who we are
Sound Affects music programming connects professional musicians with elder individuals living in senior care facilities or at home. Through live performance, one-on-one residencies, and advocacy, Sound Affects meets the needs of those who are prone to isolation and who cannot access public music in the ways that they wish.
Sound Affects is an evolving platform for both older adults and musicians to use music to engage in their larger community and to experience mutual and lifelong esteem.
