True story: I sewed 200 metres of bunting for my wedding. A little bit ridiculous, I'll admit. But the best thing is, now we have this 'family bunting' that we use for all celebrations, great and small. It's decorated my daughter's birthdays, a friend's wedding, an op shop ball, a garden party, and too many other events to remember.
And here is my first bunting for Spring Finch! Bunting has always made me happy so it was only a matter of time before I sewed it for the shop. It's available in various lengths to suit your decoration needs. 🎉

Welcome to Spring Finch.
Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I’m Sarah and I’ve been sewing ever since my mum taught me, and making paper craft for even longer. Creating beautiful art, whether with watercolours, fabric or my camera, brings me joy. You could say that the items in my store are useful (anyone remember that song about bags?!) but I’m honestly happy for them to firstly have aesthetic value. A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
I remember when the shift happened for me. Cards had been barely an afterthought, always outshined by the PRESENT. But a conversation with my artist friend Laura made me reconsider. What if a card could be a present in its own right? A gift of written love, wrapped in art? Yes. A beautiful card is one I treasure and display long, and it brings me joy to behold for two reasons: I love the art, and I love the message it carries from a precious one. So I began developing my watercolour skills to create these little artworks.
I’ve been inspired by Laura, my artist friend Sarah, my sister Esther who introduced me to watercolours in the first place, and the incredible picture book illustrators Anna Walker, Kate Knapp and Emily Gravett - these due to my daugher’s love of literature! My inspirations for sewing are my mum, who has been sewing since living memory, and my friend Lizzy who is a genius in all textile crafts.
