SBS 🔜 Vancouver in 2 weeks!! RAAAAAH
p.s. thank u to our paddlers who stayed behind as we figure out how to safely transport our paddles to the north. 1 like = 1 paddle makes it there safe, pls like and comment manifestations that our paddles won’t break 🥹🙂↕️
Another good practice day 😝
For Saturday’s practice, we worked on sprints & race pieces to prep for Vancouver! Definitely trying to fix things up before we leave to up north.
2 more weeks!!!
Officially 2 more weekends till Vancouver!! Yippee!!
For Sunday’s practice, we did more Vancouver prep and worked on fixing up our starts and race pieces. It was a tiring practice but we have to work hard to make a good first impression at our international debut 🙈
4 more BIAC practices and then SBS ✈️ Vancouver!!!
First practice back after Regatta 💪
For Saturday’s practice, we did Vancouver prep work which consisted of starts, seat pulls, and race pieces. Definitely took some time to get used to paddling again but we 🔛🔝
Also, shout out to Thaddeus for teaching our steers, Mona, some steering techniques and how she can improve! Love having the CDBA community help us 🥹
SBS baes take on Bay to Breakers!!!🏃♂️💨
Some of our SBS gents were crazy enough to wake up at the crack of dawn AGAIN to run San Francisco’s Bay to Breakers! Maybe Regatta was truly the pregame before the run 😏
Nonetheless, our SBS boys repped the jersey through the finish line and we’re proud of their run!
The most unserious race crew ever and we wouldn’t want to have it any other way 🫰🏻
SBS attended .norcal ‘s 2024 Regional Regatta and though things didn’t pan out the way it did, we still had a great day full of laughs and we kept warm underneath our parachute tarp (thank you sf wind for breaking our ez up 😍). We were able to achieve a time of 2:18 in the Rec A semi finals which was definitely a big achievement with the windy conditions!
Thank you to our Regatta race crew for putting in so much work these past few months and thank you to our new paddlers for trusting us and committing to us. To more fun, adventures, and training with SBS!
Onto our next adventure: Vancouver!
Last practice before Regatta 2024!!! Yippee!!!
Today was our official last practice before Regatta next Saturday and you know we had to 🔐 in! We worked on some race pieces, starts, and finishes and we all dumped it out on the water for next Saturday.
We’ll see y’all at Lake Merced next Saturday!
Karl the Fog joins SBS??
This past Saturday, SBS went to Lake Merced to scrim with & ! It was a great learning experience for all of us and we were able to learn from every race piece to see how we could be better moving forward.
Regatta is exactly a week away!! LFGLFGLFG!
The sun heard everybody complain so it decided to come out for today 🙂↕️
For Sunday’s practice we were able to get 2 boats out for practice and we continued with regatta prep.
We officially 1 weekend away from Regatta, lesgetittttt
Of course we’re silly enough to paddle in the pouring rain 🙂↕️
For today’s practice, we worked on race pieces to make sure we are race ready before Regatta. S/O to our paddlers for coming through and being crazy enough to paddle in the rain 🙈
Someone say hot soup after windy practice? 🏃♀️💨
SBS held a hot pot social yesterday and we fear all of us may have meat sweats considering 8+ lbs of meat was demolished … 🤭
It was a great social full of good talks, laughs, and yummy dessert! Thank you to our members for showing up and we can’t wait to hold more socials for y’all in the future 🙂↕️
Winds went crazy today 😵💫
For today’s practice, we worked on endurance and race pieces. We also worked on our starts to make sure our race pieces start out clean.
Shoutout to the crazy winds and waves for giving us that endurance (not rlly) 🙂↔️
Small crew but big improvements made today 🙂↕️
For Sunday practice, we focused more on technique work rather than race pieces so we can correct each individual’s form and get them in shape for Regatta & Vancouver!
Just a couple more weekends until our first race of the year!!
The sunny practices are making a comeback 😎
For Saturday, we worked on race pieces and a timing drill to ensure all our paddlers are recovering and entering at the same time so we can feel that boat glide 😁
3 more weekends of practices left until Regatta and then 2 more months till Vancouver! LESSGETITTTT
Part 2 of OC TT!
Today our Sunday crew did their OC TT and we’re glad to have our paddlers show up early and get their grind on 😤 we also love seeing our paddlers improve with their technique and paddle distance 💪

Slayful Sunday with SBS 🥰🥰🥰
Today for practice, we started off with a 500 meter piece and we did the same recovery drill as yesterday along with the same sprints pyramid drill. We then finished it off with another 500, yippee!!!
After practice we had delicioso brunch, arguably the best part of practice 😍

SBS takes over the world >:3 but first, we take over Tempe, AZ!
Some of our SBS paddlers raced in the Arizona Dragon Boat Festival in Tempe, AZ this past weekend and we are so proud of them 🤩 Love seeing our paddlers from the Bay Area going to different states to paddle 🥰
We can’t wait to see how far (literally) they’ll take us with them in the future!
SBS snow activity trip gone wrong?? 🫨
Some of our SBS snow enthusiasts™️ went on a snow activity trip this past Saturday and they had lots of fun skiing and snowboarding in the snow and even waiting an hour and a half in traffic 🤩 Unfortunately Richard did fracture his shoulder so let’s hope he recovers in time for Vancouver 😔
Hopefully in the mean time nobody else injures themselves ….. pray for us plz :D
for every time sbs went to a rainy day practice, we would be reach right now 😔
for today’s practice, we started the day with a 500 meter race and then worked on some seat pulls. then we did more sprints and ended a 500 m race w , very fun very cool!!
grind still continues and you know we are 🔐 in!
SBS avoid the rain at practice challenge 🤕
For today’s practice, we started off practice with a 500 meter race and then we followed the rest of practice by working on seat pulls and some drills. Then we did 4 sprints pieces and ended the practice with a 500.
Definitely worked our butt off but the grind doesn’t stop 💪

Last but definitely not least, introducing our final Board member on the 2024 SBS Board is our Co-Coach, Wilson!
As Co-Coach, Wilson works alongside Cassie to create practice plans to ensure our paddlers are working towards the goals they set for us as a team. Wilson also explains our practice plan and drills thoroughly so our paddlers understand why they do what they do.
Aside from SBS, Wilson likes to play video games with our team (any helldivers in here :^)) & OC on his free time. His favorite Costco food item is the chicken bake.
OC time trials had all of us MUNCHING after 😋
This weekend we are hosting OC time trials for our paddlers to see where they’re at in terms of their endurance and technique.
After OC TT we all got brekkie after and it was a yummy time!! Can’t wait to see how Day 2 of OC TT goes tomorrow!!
Happy International Women’s Day from your favorite SBS girly pops ✨🎀
We are so fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful & uplifting energy from our women and we are so happy to not only see them grow as paddlers, but as individuals.
Thank you SBS ladies for keeping the team full of life and for being who you are! 🎀✨
Introducing next on the SBS 2024 Board is one of our Co-Coaches, Cassie!
As Co-Coach, Cassie creates weekly drills for our paddlers to establish our stroke and race strategy. She also provides feedback that our paddlers need so they can improve for the next practice.
Aside from SBS, Cassie enjoys cooking and watching Netflix. Her favorite Costco food item is the berry smoothie.
