When I was 20 I started working as a tech in an emergency room. I thought I wanted to be a nurse and loved the way you could never have the same day at work twice. You meet a lot of people on the worst day they’ll ever have when you work in the ER. Wether they’re patients or family and you see more of them than they would ever normally show a stranger. Photographing weddings is a different kind of intimacy. I still meet people in their rawest most vulnerable versions of themselves, but they’ve chosen to share the happiest day of their lives with me. Maybe it’s because I’ve still only been doing weddings for a few years but I still feel wildly honored every time someone chooses to share those moments with their family and their friends and then me. I don’t think the contrast in careers I’ve chosen will ever be lost on me or I’ll ever stop feeling so thankful. 💕

Tomorrow is my second to last wedding if 2023 and I’m so incredibly thankful for all of the couples I’ve had this year! It sometimes feels like a fluke that everyone I’ve gotten to work with has been so kind and welcoming as I share one of the biggest days of their lives with them!
