A study from Harvard Health reports that regular exercise can improve memory and thinking skills 😜

BUT how much exercise is required to improve memory?

These study participants walked briskly for one hour, twice a week.

>> That’s 120 MINUTES of moderate-intensity exercise a week

Standard recommendations advise half an hour of moderate physical activity most days of the week, or 150 minutes a week.

If that seems daunting, start with a few minutes a day, and increase the amount you exercise by five or 10 minutes every week until you reach your goal.

If you don’t want to walk, consider other moderate-intensity exercises, such as swimming, stair climbing, tennis, squash, or dancing.

Don’t forget that household activities can count as well, such as intense floor mopping, raking leaves, or anything that gets your heart pumping so much that you break out in a light sweat.

Whatever exercise and motivators you choose, commit to establishing exercise as a HABIT, almost like taking a prescription medication.

After all, they say that exercise is medicine, and that can go on the top of anyone’s list of reasons to work out.

Sometimes the game is just too good to leave ...

and you end up playing TIRED for long hours πŸ€•

It’s not always CLEAR when you feel tired because of the stress that playing poker gives you (cortisol and adrenaline)

There are many reasons why playing this way can be bad for your performance.

One of the more underrated reasons is how you won’t be able to reflect on your decisions you made while in this poor state of mind.

This is a tricky mistake to recognize for a lot of poker players...

Being tired makes it harder for your brain to store and recall long and short-term memories.

When possible AVOID playing tired ⛔️

You may not even be able to remember all the mistakes or great plays you made during that specific session.

Do you remember the time when poker was merely a word?

You’ve come a long way since then.

Take a second and be GRATEFUL for how far you’ve come...

No matter where you’re at right now

There’s always someone who has less than you and MORE than you

Acknowledge yourself for taking the leap and even considering it...

It’s VERY important πŸ˜‰

Do you make physical EXERCISE a part of your weekly routine?

Studies show that physical exercise can boost your memory, increase your concentration, and improve your MENTAL health...

and all three are necessary if you want to be a GREAT poker player πŸ€©β€‹

Studies also show that sitting still for long periods of time is not only dangerous for your physical health but can have negative effects on your mental faculties.

In my ten-year career as a professional poker PLAYER...

I experienced the effects of poor diet, immobility, and extreme fatigue firsthand.

Over time, my lifestyle choices began to have an effect on my game πŸ™ƒ

I was losing ENERGY, my reaction time slowed, and I was unable to make sound strategic decisions.

I realized that most people I knew who played poker regularly were experiencing the same things!!

They were so intent on winning their next hand, and studying different methods, that they were forgetting to take care of their greatest poker asset…

Their brain 🧠

After a long day at a poker tournament or a CASH session, even the sharpest players can experience fatigue, and as a result, their game can SUFFER.

Many players rely on high doses of caffeine and energy drinks to keep them going over the course of a long tournament…

But these methods can cause jitters and an extreme crash that’s even worse for your strategy than the fatigue.

The next time you experience fatigue, try these natural tips instead:

πŸ’₯ Snack On Vitamin C Rich Foods - Vitamin C has been shown to help combat chronic fatigue.

πŸ’₯ Make Sure Your Meals Are Low In Sugar - This will help you avoid blood sugar spikes and crashes and will keep you on an even keel.

πŸ’₯ Get Fresh Air- A brisk walk outside will get your blood flowing and start pumping more oxygen to your brain.

πŸ’₯ Stay Hydrated - Dehydration is one of the most common causes of fatigue.

πŸ’₯ Try Some Stretches - Dynamic stretching is another great way to get the blood flowing and wake up your brain.

Hope it helps!
