It will be Thursday, September 5th from 5:00-6:30 in the WME Cafeteria. Childcare for school aged Wildcats will be available and pizza will be provided. Wildcat Teachers and staff were on 🔥🔥this week getting ready for the 24-25 school year to start (it’s not official until the kids are back)!!

Teachers spent days in Professional Development sessions, working with the district Curriculum Department to plan for instruction. Then came back home to power through more campus-needed sessions while spending some time in their classrooms making them just so special!!

☀️🥰 Principal Appreciation Post 🥰☀️ It truly takes a village, we’re grateful she’s part of ours. Principal Marron truly goes above and beyond for us.🏆 She constantly shows care and compassion during the hardest of times. 🐾 She shows UP with a smile even when it’s hard! 🫶🏼 She’ll even rock your baby to sleep when we’re working on Saturdays! ❤️💙💚🖤

🐾🐾 What an incredible day on our WestMo campus! We welcomed and celebrated our entire staff being back together again! 🐾🐾

❤️💚🖤💙 We started our morning with our House Olympics Parade and sorting of our new Wildcats! We introduced our 4 Houses with intro videos, chants and games! ❤️💙💚🖤 The energy in the gym was unmatched!

📝 The rest of our day was jam packed with professional development. We created our team social contracts (ask your kiddos what these are), reviewed our Wildcat Commitments, played fun games, built and presented our collective resumes and welcomed our Project Class presenters 🫶🏼.

🥰 Our hearts are full after meeting and getting to know our new Wildcats, seeing the pure joy on faces and hearing laughter of communion in the hallways! 🌅 If today was an indicator of what this year will be, look out, we’re going to be UNSTOPPABLE!!!

This is a reminder that school supply and backpack pickup is Saturday, August 3rd, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Merrell Center. WME Families! We are looking for 10 Families to volunteer to be a part of our Car Rider 🚗and Walker 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ Procedures Video Shoot! 🎞🎥🎬📸The shoot will occur on August 1 at 9:00 am. Participants will model driving through the car rider line and allowing their students to exit the vehicle at the porch as well as modeling how parents will meet their front and back walker students. We will be editing this footage to make one informational video to send to our community which highlights the traffic pattern and appropriate arrival and dismissal procedures.

Volunteers do not ACTUALLY have to be walkers/ car riders. 😊

⏰SAVE THE DATE!⏰The school year will be here before we know it and so will PTA meetings! We encourage families to attend meetings to stay informed on the most up-to-date information on school life and to voice any questions, concerns, ideas, or compliments!

🙏 Wildcats, how are you with the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl? Our WestMo community was hit HARD, but we are a resilient bunch. Together, we shall overcome this. Thank you to our first responders and power restoration crews for coming to our rescue during these difficult times. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of our WestMo families. 🐾

❤️🖤 We're under strict orders from KISD not to enter the buildings until thorough inspections and repairs of our campus are complete. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Thank you to the phenomenal Anslow Bryant crew, who is dedicated beyond belief! Special shoutout to Superintedent of Construction, Mark C, who braved the roadways, driving over 1.5 hours to inspect our building as soon as the eye of Beryl passed. Mark was met by maintenance & operations and KISD PD - talk about a quick response! He was able to report that our campus did have hurricane-related damages and water intrusion. Our campus is still entirely without power as the district troubleshoots the malfunctions of our backup generators. Our Leadership Team remains in constant communication and receives updated information from District and Construction personnel as it becomes available. 💚💙

🥰 Our Leadership Team has received updates from Team Leaders stating that our Wildcat Staff is safe and sound despite the recovery challenges we continue to face. We are thankful! 🥰

🔦Wildcats, with MANY families still without power and the extreme heat advisory, please seek help and temporary relief where possible. Check on your neighbors and loved ones. Stay cool, safe, and hydrated! 🔥
