My thoughts on the Industrial market, shared four years ago. My predictions that the industrial market would remain stable, primarily because supply and demand were virtually at equilibrium, held true.

However, I have seen supply increasing in the last few years. I'm not sure demand has been keeping pace. If this is indeed true, we may see an oversupply situation soon, if it's not already here. That will not spell good news for the Industrial market.

The situation is still unclear and there is not enough statistics to predict an accurate outcome. So we'll have to just wait and see.

My article in the New Straits Times, 7 years ago. Much of what I said holds true till today. The breakneck speed of changes in technology and the way business is being conducted is leaving many real estate practitioners grasping for air. There is a dire need for us to reinvent ourselves.

My take on the office and serviced apartment markets. Mixed bag of positive and negative sentiments. All said and done, I think 2024 will see some improvement over 2023 and there will be positive growth in certain segments of the market.

The industrial market may see some saturation as more players dive into it as other segments soften. I predict that we will see yields going down as the capital markets and large funds chase industrial deals.

Here's to a better 2024.

Last night marked a significant milestone in my real estate career as I walked on stage to receive the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the Year Award at the StarProperty Real Estate Awards 2023 Realtors Edition. To be the first recipient of this esteemed award is a privilege that I cherish deeply.
