AW Lactation Support
Offering a personal home visiting service, as well as phone consults.
Experienced Registered nurse and Lactation Consultant, providing lactation support services, education and information to help you on your breastfeeding journey. A small travel fee will be included on your invoice if you live outside of my local area, feel free to ask me about this.
I love working with mums antenatally, dispelling breastfeeding myths, weeding out advice that is not accurate or helpful, helping them understand how the body works, what’s normal and what to expect in the first few days/weeks.
The feedback I receive is that it is really helpful to have an understanding of what’s coming and what’s normal, as breastfeeding can sometimes end up sounding confusing and overwhelming depending on who you talk to!
Reach out if you’d like an antenatal consult!

Lactation support is not just for parents with newborns!
I have recently counselled mums and dads with babies over 6 months old regarding feeding strikes!
These can be quite common for various reasons and often we can get baby’s breastfeeding again with some persistence and helpful strategies.
Babies don’t naturally wean themselves suddenly, but gradually over time, so if you find yourself in a nursing strike there is usually a cause!
I’m here to help!

Such an important thing to remember with babies! There is no rule book they follow, they are led by their needs and instincts! Listen to them ❤️ and as the weather warms up remember that breastmilk will keep them hydrated, it’s all they need. Don’t be alarmed if they start feeding more frequently. Xx
You are sunshine! You’re doing a wonderful job and it’s ok to reach out if you need support!

Christmas is a wonderful and special time of the year, but it can also be busy and stressful!
The holidays can lead to increasing cases of mastitis as lots of outings and get togethers can mean missing a feed here and there, which early in the postnatal period can lead to engorgement and/or mastitis, make sure to listen to your baby and take a quiet moment to feed when you need to.
If you’re facing any challenges, having a baby in this busy season and are needing some extra support over the holidays. I am here!
Please reach out if you need someone to talk to or to help you on your journey with a new bub.
If you have a friend who is struggling, share this page, the right support can make all the difference!
Have a blessed Christmas!

Had the privilege of sitting with new parents the other day, offering them reassurance, helpful tips and tricks for feeding, winding and settling. Also discussed a technique to help baby maximise his time at the breast!
Little changes that can make a BIG difference! ❤️
Did you know I offer phone consults?
If you’re feeling unsure and just need some reassurance, we can chat about all things feeding and newborn behaviour and put your mind at ease!

Haha! Breastfeeding life 😂❤️
This beautiful lady was such an inspiration! Even breaking with tradition by choosing to breastfeed her babies and I’m sure she would have had some help along the way!
If you need support on your journey, give me a call!
Low milk supply is a tricky one, there is so much information and often misinformation that can get us second guessing our supply! Here is a great post from a fellow LC that I think is spot on and helps take some of the guess work out of the common question ‘am I making enough milk?’
If you have a true milk supply issue, get in touch, I can help you!

Hi!
I’m Ashlee wegner, the AW behind AW lactation support, I’m very excited to launch this page and so grateful that you’re here!
I just wanted to share a little bit about me.
I’ve been a registered nurse since 2010 and spent the majority of that time working in paediatrics, where I began to develop a love and passion for giving lactation support, I have been an international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) since 2019. I love supporting families through what can be a very challenging and vulnerable time.
I’m mum to two gorgeous kiddies (now 3 and 5) and breastfed for a total of 4.5 years.
Thanks for reading, I really am so grateful you’re here.
How can I support you on your journey?
