What do you think of Elizabeth, my new tailors dummy, she arrived this morning. I've named her after the world famous actress - Elizabeth Taylor. I'm so excited and can't wait to start my next sewing project. Please let me know what you think of her, or like me or follow me.

Upcycled Blue Denim Skirt with Floral and Plain Coloured Panels, Summery and Striking Size 20
£53
This pretty blue denim and floral print skirt has hippie vibes reminiscent of years gone by. The top part of the skirt consists of faded blue denim whilst the bottom section has alternating panels of patterned and plain crinkle polyester cotton. There are two front and two back pockets on the denim section. It has a coordinating decorative belt. Echoing the outline of the denim top, the hem of the bottom section rises and dips to provide a flattering shape.
Top of waistband to hem at hip: 41 inches
Top of waistband to hem at front: 35 inches
Material: 100% cotton,
Machine washable at 40 degrees
This maxi skirt used to be a pair of baggy jeans, they had been patched and repaired many times until at last the legs were more patches than jeans! There was still a lot of wear left in the upper part of the jeans so I cut away the leg sections then replaced them with gathered alternating panels of fabric from two pre-owned and unwanted dresses . The fabric edges have been carefully machine overcast then left exposed to give a distressed look.
