Exciting news! My submission of “The Great 2024 American Solar Eclipse” has been accepted into the 2024 Minnesota State Fair.
It will be on display in the Fine Arts Center right next to the 4-H Building, so check it out when you head to the great Minnesota get together.
“Rushing Waters” - 06/06/2024
Zoomed into Hanakāpīʻai Falls revealed a hidden world to those who views the falls from the ground. As the water breaks against the black rock cliffs, shadows and highlights bounce around. Each drop of water makes its way down completely by chance not knowing which path it will take to reach the ocean.
“First Morning Light in Waimea Canyon” - 06/08/2024
It’s called the “Grand Canyon” of the Hawaiian islands and the name suits it! It is rich with color and depth. Everywhere you look are shear cliffs and waterfalls. The birds flying in the canyon are barely beautiful to the eye and puts the canyon’s vastness into perspective.
“Haleakala Sunrise” - 06/10/2024
✅Wake up at 3 AM
✅Drive to the lookout at 10,000 feet
✅Get to the desired photograph location
✅Endure 40+ mph sustained winds at 45°F for three hours to view the entire sunrise
“The Fleeting Sunset” - 06/16/2024
There was only going to be one more sunset for me after this day and I wanted to enjoy that one, so this was my last sunset to capture with my camera. The biggest challenge with this location to shoot is the vast dynamic range of the black volcanic rock and the bright vibrant colors being presented in the sky. This is a bracketed HDR panorama of the sun setting behind the Hawaiian island of Moloka’i.
“Hanakāpīʻai Falls” - 06/06/2024
After a 4 mile hike into the ridges of the Napali coast, on the northwestern side of the island of Kauai, you reach this 400 foot waterfall. The water was a perfect refreshment after the workout that ensued to get there. What a treat!
“Sunset on the Beach” - 06/09/2024
All I can say is wow! The Hawaiian islands are gems in the middle of the pacific. After taking the day to celebrate my 5 year anniversary with we decided to settle down on this beautiful beach in south eastern Maui. It was the perfect spot to watch the sun say goodnight.
Summer is off to a fantastic start! I just got back from my two week vacation to Hawaii. The sights and experiences I had are amazing and I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity and ability to go. As I go through all the pictures I took, I will be posting them here, so stay tuned! I have some really exciting images to share. In the mean time, here is a video that I made of all the footage I took.

Today is a bittersweet day… okay maybe a lot of sweet with a little bit of bitter. I am deciding to stop pursuing broadcast meteorology and tonight is my last newscast at KVRR. My wife and future kids (When I say future, I mean A few years down the road yet) are very important to me and this career isn’t family friendly. Although I enjoy presenting the weather in front of a camera, it is not worth all the missed moments and missed future opportunities. I want to be there for my family and I know this job would not let me be the man I want to be. That being said, thank you everyone for your support. My last show will be tonight at 9 PM. This page will now become more of my pictures and the storm chasing adventures, so if you wanna stay updated with those, stay connected with this page. You may also wonder what I am going to do next in life and I’ll tell you, God has the chapter all written out, I just have to take the steps! I will let everyone know once it is finalized. Thank you to the eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota for letting me provide you your weather authority forecast!
