Happy to announce the release of my first single, Primordial Image! FFO: Boards of Canada, Clams Casino, Flying Lotus, Aphex Twin
I tried to upload directly to Facebook but got a copyright strike against myself (lmao). So here's the YouTube upload.
It's available on nearly all streaming platforms (sans Spotify, but it will be on there shortly) so feel free to check it out wherever you listen to music!
Some nerdy stuff re: the composition. I came up with the title before composing the song, then I converted the letters into numbers and used the total to determine the tempo. I also left several other nods to numerology buried deep in the layers of synths and samples. The heavily effected vocals running throughout the song, and the title, are references to Jungian psychology and the development of consciousness. A central theme to Jungian psychology is the concept of archetypes, and Primordial Image was the first iteration of this concept.
Pretty happy with how this turned out, as it's my first song outside the realm of rock/metal/guitar-based music. Not sure what direction I wanna go with the rest of the material for this project, but I really want to incorporate more intense drum programming/looping and samples to some degree.
