The Golden Comet hen lays the most eggs per year averaging 300-350. The Rhode Island Red and Leghorn can also pop an impressive 250-300 eggs a year!

With chicken eggs, what you see is not always what you get. All of the girls who laid these eggs are with our Olive Egger and Black Copper Maran roosters. So while the egg represent the color that the mom carries, what hatches from these eggs will actually produce darker and more vibrant shades of these greens and blues because of the genes that the roosters contribute. Both of our top roosters are from imported lines that carry the moss and dark chocolate genes (8+ on the maran charts) so the offspring are guaranteed to lay stunning eggs! 🐓

These hatching eggs are sold in our Olive Egger/Easter Egger dozen and whose offspring will produce moss, sage, seafoam, and spearmint colored eggs. PM for details and availability!

After roughly 28 days, the eggs will hatch together which takes around 24 hours. Once hatched, the ducklings stay in their nests for at least 10 hours while they dry and get used to using their legs. Their first plight usually happens early in the morning when the female duck leads her ducklings to water.
