19. Now we know that what things soever the law saith , it saith to them who are under the law, that every month may become guilty before God.
20. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21. But now the righteousness of God without e law is manifested , being witnessed by the law and the prophets.
22. Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe , for there is no difference.
23. For all have sinned , and come short if glory of God.
24. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
25. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission bid sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.
26. To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness that he might be just, and the justifer of him which believeth in Jesus.
27. Where is boasting then? Is excluded. By what law? Works? Nay, but by the law of Faith.
28. Therefore we conclude t a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
29. Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also if the Gentiles also.
30. Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcission through faith.
31. Do we then make void law through faith ? God forbid yea, we establish the law .
In this book of Romans, Paul wrote to the Romans for the preparation of the way prior to his planned visit to the church at Rome. He planned to work among the Christian there for a while and then with their support proceed to Spain.
He wrote about his message , understanding of the Christian faith and it's practical implications for the lives of Christian and how God puts people right with himself which is through faith from beginning to the end .
He then developed his theme covering all man kind both the Jews and the Gentiles as they need to put right with God, for all alike are under the power of sin with emphasis that people are put right with God through faith in Christ, he further describes the new life in Union with Christ that results from the new relation with God. Not only that, is assuraning that believers has peace in God and is set free by God's spirit from the power of sin and death.
He also discusses the purpose of the law of God and the power of God's spirit in the believers life.
Wrestles with the question of how Jews and Gentiles fit into the plan of God for mankind within the reach of God's grace in Jesus Christ and believe that the Jews will not always reject Jesus.
Finally he writes about how a Christian life should be lived. Especially about the way of love in relations with others. It was taken up as service to God , the duty of Christians to the state and to one another, with the personal messages and with words of praise to God.
With this illustration above, we can see that most people admit they aren't perfect, but they like to say that their good points outweigh their bad ones. " Romans. 10 :3 ".
But God knows that even our best fees are tainted by selfishness or pride. Therefore the bible says:- There is none righteous no not one Romans. 3:10.
It lead us into the story of a young immigrant who had become successful as an author, who has made fortune by writing several volumes, including a play that had been produced on broadway.
With his new found wealth, he bought a yacht and one day took his aged mother for a cruise on his yacht. In preparation for the journey he has hired a crew to manage the boat.
He was so proud of his new fortune and when on board, he excused himself and went below deck.
Shortly he returned, dressed in officer's attire with hat, coat, trouser and gold braid and all the trimmings , parading, before his aged mother, he said, " see mama, I 'm a captain! ' She looked up at him and said" Izzie," is by me, you is a captain ! And by you, you is a captain.
But by captain you is no captain. So also a person may dress himself up with good works and say" I'm good", and others may agree with him.
But by God's standard he is not good. All of us full short of the divine requirement.
That's why we must put our faith in thy spotless son of God, who died in place.
Only his sarcrifice can save us.
There are no self made Christians.
In conclusion , nothing can for sin atone.
There is nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Is naughty of good that I have done, but nothing except the blood of Jesus.
Our efficiency without Christ's sufficiency is only deficiency.

God humbles us As Christian
Text . Deuteronomy 8:3.
And he humble thee and suffered thee to hunger and fed thee with manna which thou knowest not, neither did thy fathers know,
that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only but by every word that proceedeth doun out of the mouth of the Lord . doth man live.
Pride is subtle and humility elusive conscious- humility may actually be cover - up for pride.
And that is why God must humble his children.
He does this through provation and through provision.
In Deuteronomy . 8 Moses reminded the Israelites how they hungered in the wilderness. So also I want to bring to your notice any lact we experience as the children of God, whether it's health or finances. Is humbling before God . Examine Deut. 3. That God allow us to hunger. Means no state of want comes to the Christian without divine permission provation serves as the context in which God teaches us humble dependence
Also God humbles through provision. He fed the Israelites with manna a special food they had never had before, because he want them to know that man does not live by bread alone, but by God's powerful creative word and so as to learn that God had his own supernatural ways of sustain in a life.
Sometimes ago , I was blindfolded with cataract and lost hope of sight for many years, but came the help of restoration from God. I was in my home when I received a call for eye test that lead to the evacuation of the cataract without spending Kobo. and at the end of it all I regain my sight fully. It was a humble and joyous provision.
Perhaps you are in want God knows your need and he will supply it. His humbling has but one that he might test you to do good in the end.( Deut.8:16).
Remember he that is down have no reason to fear falling, he that is low have no pride, he that is humble ever shall have God to be his guide , for true humility keeps company with strong faith.

Temptation Part 2.
Text :- ,2nd cor. 10:1-6 continues.
If however you have been engaging in wrong thoughts, confess your sin and ask God to help
you. My advice is that you fill your mind with good and pure thoughts submit to God. Resist the Devil,. Say no to those tempting thoughts.
Don't allow evil thoughts in your mind today.
Don't allow it to settle down bin your mind today.
Don't allow it to stay in your mind today.
Learn your lesson and give no room to impure thoughts in your mind today.
Your character is shaped by what your mind takes in, therefore don't be a waste basket.
By allowing wrongful thoughts you become a nonantity and eventually end your life in a miserable way.
Whenever temptation arise resist it with bible quotations . e.g. proverbs.1:10, 4, 14, Rome .6:13, Eph. 6:13 , 2 . Pet. 3:17 e.t.c and not only that you are encouraged to read 1. Cor.10:13 , Heb. 2:18 . Jam 1:2,3,12 for you to overcome temptations.
Follow the example of the overcomes like Abraham - Gen. 14 :23, Elisha- 2: king 5:16 Job.

Topic :- Temptation . Part - One.
Text ; - 2 Corinthians. 10: 1- 6.
1. Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ , who in presence am base among you , Bui being absent am bold toward you .
2 . But I beseech you ,that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence wherewith I think to by bold against some , which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
3. For though we walk in the flesh , we do not war after the flesh
4. ( For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal , but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.)
5. Casting down imaginations , and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God , and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
6. And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience , when your obedience is fulfilled.
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man , but God is faithful .
( 1 Corinthians 10:13 ).
Temptation means a desire that offers sinful pleasure , if it didn't offer pleasure it will be easy to resist , some don't mind fleeing temptation as long as they can leave a forwarding address, sin often takes place firste in our mind. For many people , illicit sexual thoughts are Said to be a source of pleasure.
For example , A young man met and discussed his pastor but the wise pastor listened attentively to his mild list of supposed sins and discovered that the Young man was not completely honest and queried if that's all ?
and the young man answered yes pastor.
The Pastor queried again if the young man is positive in not been entertaining any impure thoughts recently and the young man said no
but this have sure been entertaining me .
In clear statement we can see from what we hay said so far that temptation is my sin , for it to develop into sin , we have to welcome it , to dwell on it and enjoy it.
For example , the temptation to get back at someone who has hurt us becomes wrong when we begin to think about things we can do to harm that person and get revenge .
Paul said that every thought must be bro into captivity to the obedience of Christ ( 2 cor. 10:5 ).

Text :- Isaiah 43 ; 1-7.
1. But now this saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob , and he that formed thee ,O Israel , Fear not for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name , thou art mine.
2. When thou passest through the waters , I will be with thee , and through the rivers , they shall not overflow thee , when thou walkest through the fire , thou shalt not be burned , neither shall the flame Kindle upon thee.
3. For I am the Lord thy God , the Holy One of Israel , thy saviour. I gave Egypt for thy ransome , Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4. Since thou wast precious in my sight , thou has been honourable and I have loved thee therefore will I give men for thee and people for thy life.
5. Fear not , for I am with thee. I will bring thy seed from the east and gather thee from the west .
6. I will say to the north , Give up , and to the south , Keep not back bring my sons from far , and my daughters from the ends of the earth .
7. Even every one that is called by my name, for I have created him , yea , I have made him.
( Isaiah ,43:2 ) . When you pass through the waters , I will be with you.
Beloved, is there anytime you have passed through the deep waters of trials ? So youare not alone , only some of God children escape the flooding waters of enemy , those times when it seems that the rush of the torrent is too much for us . But God says fear not.
Through the Holy Bible , those comforting at are repeated to calm the troubled hearts of God's people in the midst of difficulty.
To Zacharias , standing by the Altar of incense , the angel of the Lord said Fear not . For your prayer is heard. ( Luke 1:13. ) .
To Mary frightened by the angelic appearance , the messenger said Fear not , for you ha found favour with God ( Luke 1; 30 ).
To Paull , storm - tossed and hungry , the angel said Fear not . God has granted you all those who sail with you. ( Acts. 27:24 ).
And to Israel , whose disobedience had displeased God , He said " Fear not " when you pass through the waters. I will be with you. ( Isaiah 43:2 ) . Yes we can turn to the Lord in adversity. The one who has procteted his people for centuries and who has redeemed us through Jesus, Will not abadoned us. As we face the rising waters of sorrows, the flood of physical suffering or the high tide y trials.
He will help us.
We may have to go through water but we have nothing to fear because God will be with us. Better the storm with Christ than smooth waters without him.
When we are passing through the waters of deep sorrow and despair and get no help from others , we should bear mind that Christ is there for us .

Topic :- The Shy Bearers.
Text : - John 15 : 1 - 8.
1. I Am the true Vine , and Father is the husbandman.
2. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away and every branch that beareth fruit he purgeth it that it may bring forth more fruit.
3. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you .
4. Abide in me , and I in you .
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself , except it abide in the vine , no more can ye except ye abide in me.
5. I am the Vine ye are the branches ; He that abideth in me and I in him the same bringeth forth much fruit for without me you can do nothing .
6. If a man abide not in me , he is cast forth as a branch , and is withered and men gather them and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
7. If ye abide in me and my words abide in you , ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.
8. Herein is my Father glorified , that ye bear much fruit , so shall ye bear much fruit , so shall ye be my disciples.
By this my father is glorified that you bear much fruit.
In this lesson we have read .
God plants grace in our hearts , that He may reap fruit from our lives.
Sometimes ago I heard from someone that referred to a tree that bear very little fruit as shy bearer.
He said these so called tree or trees produce only enough to point out the kind of trees they are.
So I draw an analogy between such trees and we Christians.
Many Christian output of spiritual fruit is so minor that they too deserved to be recognised and called Shy Bearers.
In our today's scripture reading , the Lord Jesus spoke about different kinds of fruit bearings, he stated clearly that some branches bear no fruit . And they are removed from vine.
While others that bears fruits are pruned inorder that they will produce much fruit.
In John 15: 8. Jesus applied this to lives of his followers, saying by this my father is glorified that you bear much fruit
The fruit bearing of which he spokes may have reference to the people we lead to Christ through our witness or the fruit of the Holy Spirit demonstration in any case.
Christian should be bringing forth fruit through his life and testimony.
What comes to mind is in what category would we best fit, No fruit ? Some fruit ? Much fruit ?
I m afraid that many believers are content to be shy bearers. They produce just enough to show what they are but no more ! How ever the
Gardener wants all his trees to have good yield . So we should live - Up to expectation , be willing to accept the Lord pruning so that we will not remain shy bearers.

Text : - Proverbs 17:5.
5. Whoever makes fun of a poor person insults his maker.
Whoever is happy to see someone's distress will not escape punishment..
Laughing is a natural human activity . Laughter was given by God to lighten up our load in life .
Scientists have demonstrated that people who laugh regularly are happier and healthier than people who don't.
But not all laughter is equally funny . Some people get laughs at other people's expense. And God doesn't like that . Listen I what Solomon says in Proverbs 17:5. Whoever p makes fun of a poor person insults his maker. Whoever is happy to see someone's distress will not escape punishment.
Some types of humour make fun of other
people or their tragedies .
Most of the really popular people stand up comedians or late night talk show hosts engage in humour that pokes fun at other people. Sure , it may be funny , but God says it's wrong .
Here are three things you can do when people around you are engaging in unsavoury humour.
1. Don't laugh. Learn to control how you respond to humour . If it's offensive , don't laugh.
2. Don't participate . Some people seem to spend most of their lives insulting other people. If that is the case with people the same way to get laughs. Creativity think of better ways to add humour to your life. And don't support people who attack others.

Prayer, God I thank you for all of your blessings I have in life. Help me to be kind to people who have less than I do . I don't want to offend you by poking fun at their weakness. In Jesus mighty name.

11. If you fear the Lord , trust the Lord.
He is your helper and your shield.
12. The Lord , who is always , thinking about us , will bless us.
He will bless the descendants of Israel
13. He will bless those who fear the Lord.
from the least important to the most important.
14.ay the Lord continue to bless you and your children.
15. You will be blessed by the Lord , the maker of heaven and earth.
A number of people believe that cows can predict the weather. Those cow watchers claim that the higher the percentage of cows lying down in a field , the greater the chance of rain.
Predictions . Forecasts . Promises . People try to predict many things , weather , sports scores , the economy . On and on people make predictions.
You can get in trouble if you trust predictions too much
You've probably heard forecasters promise a sunny day , only to be drenched around noon
Or perhaps you've heard about people who have lost lots of money when they invested in a company that was predicted to grow .
And you've probably witnessed preseason predictions of athletic teams that have turned out very wrong .
Only one kind of prediction is completely trustworthy. God's predictions. You can be sure that whatever God predicts will come true .
Although the predictions of people are often wrong not one of God's predictions has ever failed to come true .
The author of Psalm 115 . revealed one of God's predictions that we can count on .
The prediction is this. Those who put their trust in God will be rewarded . He promises to help and protect those who follow him. The Psalm goes on to say . The Lord , who is always thinking about us . will bless us . Psalm 115.12. God knows our needs even before we ask him to meet them , for what do you need help and protection today ? Tell God you trust him to look out for you.

Prayer:- Lord , I praise you for helping me and protecting me . I know you are completely trustworthy and are fully capable of taking care of my needs in Jesus mighty name.

Text :- Genesis .12 : 1-3.
1. The Lord said to Abram
Leave your land, your relatives , and your father's home .
Go to the land that I will show you.
2. I will make you a great nation ,
I will bless you .
I will make your name great , and you will be a blessing .
3. I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you . I will curse .
Through you every family on earth will be blessed.
It is one of the greatest feelings in the world , looking at the list on the wall and finding your name up there. You made it ! You were chosen for the next level. You made the senior class. You are listed on the honour roll. It feels wonderful to be among the chosen few.
But what about the people who didn't make the list ? Unless one of them is a friend of yours, you probably didn't think twice about the people who weren't selected to join you. It's human nature. We generally think first about ourselves and our own accomplishments , and only secondarily about others , if we think of them at all . When we make the list we're satisfied.
Abram was chosen for a purpose. He was not chosen so that others could see what a wonderful guy he was. He was chosen by God so he could serve others , even those who were not yet on the team. Genesis 12:3 says of Abram , Through you every family on earth will be blessed. God had a specific purpose in choosing Abram , everybody would l have a better chance of discovering a relationship with God.if Abram did his job.
Isn't that why we're on God's team ?
Like Abram , God wants us to tell the world about a God who loves us all. As you walk your ways today , ask yourself , who needs to experience the love of God through a friendly word from me ?

Topic :- The Colours of promise.
Text : - Genesis. 9: 8-17.
8.God also said to Noah and his sons. 9.I am going to make my promise to you , your descendants , 10.and every living being that is with you , birds , domestic animals and all the wild animals all those that came out of the ship every living thingon earth. 11. I am making my promise to you. Never again will all life be killed by flood waters. Never again will there be a flood that destroys the earth .
12 . God said . This is the sign of promise I am giving you and every living being that is with you for generations to come.
,13. I will put my rainbow in the clouds to be a sign of my promise to the earth.
14. Whenever I form clouds over the earth , a rainbow will appear in the clouds . 15. Then I will remember my promise to you and every living animal. Never again will water become a flood to destroy all life. 16. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds , I will see it and remember my everlasting promise to every living animal on earth.over the
earth .
So God said to Noah. This is the sign of the promise I am making to all life on earth.
Beloved , it's got to be one of the worst feelings in the world. He was your friend , your best friend. He was the one person bin your life you felt you could trust, the one person you were so sure would never let you down. But he did.
It was one brief comment spoken to impress someone with what he knew about you, and now your life is wide open to others. The eyes that follow you as you walk to your work seems to tell the whole story.
People know the truth about you. Your old secret is now out in the open.
All because a trusted friend let you down. Such disappointments Make it hard for us to trust again. We may even have a hard time being honest with God . But remember , though people act just like us. God is different. God always keeps his promises.

Text:- Genesis. 6 : 9 - 22.
9. This is the account of Noah and his descendants

Noah had God's approval and was a man of integrity among the people of his time. He walked with God.
10. He had three sons. Shem , Ham , and Japeth.
11. The world was corrupt in God's sight and full of violence.
12. God saw the world and how corrupt it was because all people on earth lived evil lives.
13. God said to Noah , I have decided to put an end to all people because the earth is full of their violence. Now I'm going to destroy them along the earth. 14. Make yourself a ship of cypress wood. Make rooms in the ship and coat it inside and outside with tar.
15.This is how you should build it. Thy ship is to be 450 feet long. 75 feet wide and 45 feet high.
16. Make a roof for the ship and leave an 18- inch - highly opening at the top.
Put a door in the side of the ship. Build the ship with lower , middle , and upper decks.
17. I'm about to send a flood on the earth to destroy all people under the Sky, every living breathing human. Everything on earth will die.
18. But I with make my promise to you . You your sons , your wife and your son's wives will go into the ship.
19. Bring two of every living creatures into the ship in order to keep them alive with you. They must be male and female.
20. Two of every type of bird, every type of domestic animal , and every type of creature that crawls on the ground will come to you to be kept alive.
21. Take every kind of food that can be eaten and store it. It will be food for you and the animals.
22. Noah did this. He did everything that God has commanded him.
Are you crazy ?¹ walk to school ? But I s of no use. The car's broken down again , and you are stuck.walking the ten blocks to the school . Life just isn't fair.
You leave fifteen minutes earlier than usual, and five minutes into the dreaded walk , you discover that the air seems extra clear this morning .You feel a little bit healthier being out doors . The conversation with your younger brother almost acceptable . In fact , he wants your advice about the best way to break the news to mom about his little science class incident.
By the time you reach your classroom , you ari shocked at what a great morning it is . The dreaded walk has turned into a fine way to start the day . It took a few extra minutes , but it made all y difference in the usually strained relationship with your brother.
Let us think about it , our relationship with friends , family members , or God can grow stale . Spending a few moments each day with a family e or friend is important in keeping that relationship fresh . Noah knew how to keep his friendship with God from growing stale . Genesis 6. 9 tells us that Noah walked with God . He approached life with God as something to be treasured and enjoyed , like a long walk in a quiet forest . He didn't just pay
God lip service , he took the time to be with God and know him better . Instead of just talking at God , he walked with him .
You can do the same . You might even carve out time to actually take a hike .
Discover Noah's secret . As you walk , spend time thinking and talking with God about you day.
Let us pray , we pray for forgiveness for talking at you , instead of taking with you . Help us to remember to take a walk with you once in a while .

Text:- Reading from the book of 2nd Corinthians .11:1-15.
1. Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly, and indeed bear with me.
2. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy. For I have expoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste Virgin to Christ.
3. But I fear, least by any means , as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty , so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus , whom we have not preached ,or if ye received , of another gospel , which ye have not accepted , yr might well beat with him.
5. For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles .
6 . But though I be rude in speech , yet not on knowledge , but we have been througly made manifest among you in all things
7. Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted , because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely ?
8 . I robbed other Churches, taking wages of them, to do you service .
9. And when I was present with you ,and wanted. I was chargeable to no man , for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied and in things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you , and so will I keep myself.
10. As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
11. Wherefore ? because I love you not ? God knoweth.
12. But what I do , that I will from them which desire occasion , that wherein they glory , they may be found even as we.
13. For such are false apostles of Christ.
14. And no marvel , for Saran himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness , whose end shall be according to their works.
Satan means adversary , He is also described as the accuser of our brethren. ( Rev. 12:10 ) and a murderer from y beginning and a liar. ( John. 8:44 ). He is our enemy.
God however has expoused our enemy's tactics in his holy words and here are some of his " our enemy " subtle strategies. Quote scriptures to lead us astray ( Mathew. 4:6 ) . Afflict the body ( 2 . Cor.12 :7 ). Pluck away the seed of the word ( Mark. 4:15 ). Tempts by inspare thoughts. ( 1 Cor. 7:5 ). Tempt by pride. ( 1 Tim. 3: 6 ). Hinder through circumstances .( 1. Thess. 2:18 ).. Seduce by pleasure. ( 1. Tim. 5:11-15 ). Severely buffet in a crisis. ( Luke 22:31 ). Tempt to hypocrisy and lying. ( Acts. 5; 3 ).
We should study these passages and plan our defense. Be always on the alert submit to God and resist , the devil, then victory can be ours.
But first we must know Satan as our enemy so that we can recognise his strategy.
Satan in his subtle way will chloroform our soul if we don't quickly turn to Christ whose blood can make us whole.
No is ay ! Satan's ploys are no match for the Saviour's power.
