Following our PT Session, the 43 ABS led a Remembrance Wreath Laying ceremony at the Pope Air Park and Even 91 Memorial. In attendance was numerous former Air Force veterans that had the distinct honor and privilege of serving with the crew of Even 91.
Team Pope was able to listen to about an hour of stories that were filled with laughs, tears, and fond memories. Thank you to all of our distinguished guests for leaving a lasting impression on our Airmen and honoring the lives of the heroes on flight Even 91.
Today, Team Pope came together in a special PT Session to honor the memory of the C-130 crew of Even 91 that crashed on this day 30 years ago. We had the honor of Brittany Magrane, the daughter of Capt Gabriel Magrane, in attendance to take part in our Wiffle Ball Tournament as the Captain of Team Magrane. Huge thank you to everyone that helped make today as special as it was.
Congrats to Team Sablone, led by SSgt James Salisbury, in capturing the inaugural Team Pope Memorial Trophy! Big shout out to Col (Retired) David “DB” Chandler for attending and saying a few words about the crew today while presenting the trophy to our winners.

Well, she turned her vision into reality by orchestrating Pope AAF’s inaugural World Tour! This outstanding event had 13 countries showcasing music, food, attire, and fun facts that had more than 200 participants blown away.
A1C Burgos is originally from Málaga, Spain and she currently works in the 43 CPTS as a Financial Management Technician. She is married and she and her husband Adam have 2 children.
If you see A1C Burgos around please give her a huge congrats!
For anyone interested, please see the attached fundraiser designed to directly help Pope Airmen who will potentially have to homeschool their children this year. COVID has been hectic for us all, but our Airmen have been hit hard due to school and childcare issues. Please give if you can. All proceeds give directly back to the Pope community to alleviate additional costs towards education for their children.
Operation BACK TO SCHOOL organized by Neil Shuman Due to the lasting effects of Covid-19 many Pope’s Air Force families are choosing to homeschool … Neil Shuman needs your support for Operation BACK TO SCHOOL
Today we recognized 43 ABS’s SSgt Sean Cooper, NCOIC of Force Management as Diamond 💎 Sharp! Sgt Cooper constantly epitomizes professionalism by going above and beyond on anything from guiding leadership on complex EPR questions, to setting up virtual EFD panels during these unprecedented times. You can’t see right now, but Cooper is always smiling. Thanks for what you do!
