One Way or Another Barrel Aged Sour Triple with Meyer Lemon and Marrionberry 2016, Cascade Brewing and The Bruery
Aroma Up front quick hit of mild aged Funky Meyer Lemon Citrus fruit with a zippy fizzy tingly nose leading to predominant bright mild luscious mouthwatering fresh red berry juiciness with a hints of grassy green notes for balance and a backbone of moderate mineral lactic acid and a faint blush of fresh feta blue cheese as it warms. Flavour is a melange of bracing lactic and funky wet oak Cascade Terroir mild red fruit and hit of red cherry skins and red berry notes, with a burr of tart and lactic acid with a finish that makes the lips coat with mineral salt with dryness. A body of moderately silky fullness and light carbonation clear and bright.
Sang Noir 2012, Barrel aged Sour with Cherries, Cascade Brewing, Deep Thick strong Dark Smokey p***y oak rot wood nose with mild lactic gritty rinded Oka cheese with a thought of sweaty gym sock, blue cheese and strong smooth oak tannin and dark roasted coffee. Flavour Strong Dark coffee with no bitterness roasty toasty notes without any burnt notes with clear fresh crisp icy light moderate mouthfeel with clean cutting lactic throughout breaking up the roast notes and redistributing the flow of roast/ acid tartness and minerality to crushable drinkability. Salt coating mineral finish with a sting of acid freshness.
Enjoying this Grimm Sunshine Pop Dry Hopped Berlinner Weisse Style Ale Brewed with Lemongrasss, Vanilla and Milk Sugar. Brewed Oct 2017 still delicious. Aroma, grapefruit and pine resin with a bare hint of sweetness that balances the resin and leads to a blush of sprightly tangerine. Flavor continues on these notes with a mild acidity with touches of enamel stripping dryness that pop out then meld into the background. Mild to high carbonic bite like a good Berliner Weisse but a moderate to full mouthfeel from the lacto which restrains the high hopping rate bringing the resin to manageable levels. As it warms more bright clear fresh tangerine notes emerge and a hint of vanilla.
Groundhog Day Treat!!! Rubaeus Raspberry Ale by Founders and Cherry Garcia Ice Cream. I left the ice cream at The Only Cafe so have a try. It's so crushable!!!! Thank you to the Founders team who suggested vanilla ice cream, I mixed it up with cherry ice cream and chocolate, when they visited Toronto last year.

Second Roast has Vermouth, Olive Oil, White Pepper, Sumac, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Cayenne Pepper and Sriracha. What can I say I was lazy with the recipe.

Wild Winds Barrel Aged Brett Saison, Sandcastle Lemon Zest Saison in 2nd use wine barrel. Aroma clean fresh mineral and apricot nose. Flavor finishes with a bit of bubblegum that the lemon zest has toned down and creates a refreshing citrus buzz rather than a hard hitting zest. Nought Wildflower Honey Red Wine Barrel Aged dry with a pronounced floral flavor touch of sweetness their base Mead, St. Crimson Blackcurrent Mead moderate body very dry like a good dry red with good acidity and Cassis flavor, Night Eyes full bodied sour cherry flavor with funky notes of crushed cherry skin touch of lemon acid from Sumac and a hint of Scrumpy Apple light sparkling carbonation, CAS II a lighter version of Night Eyes less funky notes no Sumac earthiness clean light cherry and apple, Floralia Dry Mead with Juniper, Marjoram and Lavender, The marjoram and juniper rein outness restrains the Lavenders floral nature so it isn't the potpourri that working with lavender often imparts, clean fresh and upliftingly forest like.
