The Gophers would like to wish a happy retirement to our head coach and friend to all, Ian.
Starting back in 1980 with Carling O'Keefe and finishing as one of the original 16 of Great Western he put in an amazing 44 years of dedication. To that, we tip our hat.
Wishing you the best in your new adventure, and as always, see you on the pitch!
Our annual FAT Man 5K race took place last weekend. A mix of running and some carbonated beverage drinking with a formula to shave time off based on age/weight. With the hopeful idea of making it more difficult for the backs to beat the forwards.
However our #15 Thordie has once again won the straight time and adjusted time category. Proving we need to change the formula again... Thanks to all who came out and participated!
Looking to join a rugby team? We would love to have you! All skill levels welcome, so come on out and be a part of our rugby family.
Practices are free to drop in. Hope to see some new faces out there!

The next man to be inducted into the gopher hall of fame is the one and only Mr Georgie Reynolds!
Congrats!
George who was also known as “Relic” is originally from Prince Albert and began playing rugby with the Gophers in 1978. George was brought to the team by his co-worker Mike Bowers and he played Gopher rugby for 18 whole seasons! Some of the reasons he played for so long was the camaraderie, teamwork and all the friendships he made. George enjoyed travelling with the team such as Minot in the spring for a tournament and in 1982 went to Texas, and of course rugby fest in Edmonton. George was an amazing athlete and rugby player and still loves the game.
Today he is retired and still living in Saskatoon, you can usually find him at all the Gopher games and events hanging with the boys and having a beer. So be sure to have a beer with him and listen to his stories about the Gophers from back in the day next time you see him.
