This post is not a regular post of my cooking. It is a gratitude post for .raghu and her cooking!!
Last weekend I had the privilege to have these amazing home made Chole bhature which my friend .raghu made with such an ease.. The fried chillies and the potato curry on the side were also so amazing!
It was simply mind blowing food. Thanks once again Rashmi!

2 mins Maggi noodles is my soul food. I want to make it when I like to eat something which i really connect with.
Most times it is just plain Maggi, but this week i had just enough time to make it with all the vegetables. I love how the carrots, french beans, and bell peppers compliment the noodles..
Maggi brings back so much of nostalgia from me!

My dinner last night!
Did not feel like having anything complicated but was still craving for something yummy!
Sliced and salted Avacado with a fried egg topped with a generous amount of chilli oil. It was yummy and i had to make a second egg for myself as i wanted more!

Singapore's famous "Black Pepper Crab"

This is a very famous item in Singapore and I remember telling me about it.
Traditionally this is made with fresh mud crabs but i had to improvise with Dungeness crabs. It came out good and did not disappoint.

Tindora fry (Dondakayi vepudu) and Tindora Chutney (Dondakayi pacchadi)
A couple of weeks back i saw a bag of Tindoora in the fridge and wanted to make the fry. When I started cutting, I found a good number of them ripe and colourful inside. I thought i had to discard it. Called my mother in law to see if they can be salvaged and she gave me the recipe for the chutney.
The Chutney was a surprise addition for lunch and it came out really well.
I rarely enjoy cooking vegetarian food but i did enjoy this one!

I have made biryanis over the past many years but never tried making Shrimp dum biryani. Had some time on hand and gave it a try!

I have made shrimp pulao but making it the dum style gave it a nice hyderabadi touch.
It came out well and was worth the effort!
Thanks for the easy to follow and simple recipe Vismai Food this was a hit!

Palak Pakoda
Me and my mother in-law were watching TV and I said, Should we make pakodas with the palak (spinach) at home. Both of us did not know how to make and looked at some recipes and did a mix and match.
It was nice for an evening snack!

I tried my hands on a new dish.
Turkey kheema balls, sauted with garlic and ginger!
My friend's wife made this for us the other day and i was super impressed. She gave me the recipe and i did improvise a bit by airfrying the balls.
This would be a regular item in my household now

Dosakai Mutton (Curry made with lamb and lemon cucumber)
Lemon cucumber has a tangy taste and it goes well with the fat rich soft meat. This is the first time we made this.
We had a good bounty of lemon cucumber harvest in our home garden. Apparently had it as a child. She called up her mom and got to know the recipe. It came out good!

Pulled/Shredded chicken wrap!
It was perfect with the crunchy shredded lettuce, juicy chicken, creamy sauce, tangy Peri peri sauce from Trader Joe's and the highlight of all this is the super duper hot Smoked Ghost pepper chillies from Trader Joe's
Highly recommend the Ghost pepper Chillies bottle! Not for the ones who can't handle spice!

Inspired by Sanjyot Keer 's kurkuri bhindi chaat recipe, I made just the kurkure bhindi as a side! It came out pretty good considering i did not deep fry as the original recipe asked for. I air fried it!.
A nice meal - steamed rice, tempered yogurt(kadi), rasam, papar, bhindi (okra) fry curry and finally the crispy kurkure bhindi!

I have always loved this Apollo fish in my favourite restaurants. Never tried at home, but thanks to 's recipe and inspiration from her insta feed, i decided to make it at home.
The only change from the recipe is i did Air fry it instead of deep frying. It turned out good. On the aesthetics, i felt it could have looked better. One big difference was, i did not use food color and used kashmiri chilli powder.
It was a good Friday evening snack!
