The other night I took off my rings not sure why because I donā€™t normally do this. I just feel super weird without them. That is besides the point.

I look at this in complete shock STILL because marriage is something I never ever saw in my future, something I quite frankly never wanted. Forever seemed to long.

I met someone & everything made complete since forever wasnā€™t long enough. I found my bestfriend in my soul mate that I wanted to share every up & down with. I found someone that proves and shows me they love me every single day, someone that brings me flowers just because, someone that motivates me when I have none & a genuine soul that I adore more than anything. Marriage isnā€™t easy itā€™s a new test every single day itā€™s learning how to handle things differently. As hard as it is some days itā€™s something Iā€™ll never stop working on.

Iā€™m not sure there was a point in this other than you can find happiness & sometimes we just need to capture a picture to remind us that something so small can mean so much. šŸ’•

9 years ago, I met someone I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with. We got married, in 2014, the month gay marriage was legalized, had two beautiful little girls. We spend time with family together, built a home, vacationed, you know the normal married life. She was my best friend, despite how hard our lives were together. She become my roommate and not wife. We didnā€™t getting along when we were married, we made each other miserable. It came to a point where there was little communication, little to no intimacy, we had no joy in one other, our kids could feel the tension and withdrawal in us. After many years of trying to keep the family together, we finally made a really tough decision. We got divorce in 2019. Divorce is hard for everyone involved, itā€™s so heartbreaking. For the two that were in the marriage itā€™s hard enough, and then when you have kids you have to also manage their feelings, and understand that they are breaking too. Divorce can get ugly and you can also not always make the right decisions. Iā€™ve dealt with divorce in my childhood as well, and both of us didnā€™t want that for our kids. We just werenā€™t working, and every time we tried we couldnā€™t make it work. Even if we wanted it for them, our kids so badly- we couldnā€™t do it. Itā€™s was one of the hardest things Iā€™ve ever went through and done before. We had to learn how to do everything separately, we had to learn how to make a reasonable routine for the kids separately, we had to divide all of our things, and make a lot of compromises that we didnā€™t want to make. You know if youā€™ve been there, in my shoes. Here is the BUT, and this BUT is greater than I could have ever imagined- we got through it. We learned how to live separately, we found the joy and being apart. We learned how to communicate for our kids and do things together as a family still. We stay on the same page that way. We became actual friends and not roommates who were married and miserable. We met new people, and added to our family. We now do everything together as a team, with our significant others included. This makes my heart so happy, that we are able to do this together! I used to dream and pray about this one day happening, oh and boy did god answer me. We are all so much happier this way. Divorce is hard, yes. Being miserable is harder, worse even. Having my family together the way it is today, has made divorce one of our best decisions for us and our babies. We are still family, we are a team, we are strong, we are blended, and most importantly happy.

If you would have told me in 2012 or in year In between, that this would be my life, I would have called you a liar. I didnā€™t see this coming. I would like to thank God for turning it all around for me, and making something so painful, so rewarding and full of love. I would like to thank my family for all their support through it all, and most importantly the family I built, and extended. Iā€™ve become best friends with my ex-wifeā€™s, new wife. We have started a podcast together, where we share stories of past lives, our day to days, kids, coparenting, and so on. Itā€™s something we are very proud of and really enjoy doing and sharing with people. I also would like to thank our followers who have been here with and continue to be. I canā€™t say it enough how much we appreciate it.

Thank you so much guys, I hope that you find hope and inspiration in our stories that we share. Please do not be shy to reach out with any stories here would like to share with us here at Everyone and their Mom.

Love,

Guess who's starting a co-parenting podcast together?

MOM & STEP MOM

Crazy right? We know. Not for us, this is our normal. But it hasn't always been, and we want to talk about it!
We decided to start a podcast, bcc not only have been able to work together as a family to raise our kids, we became best friends along the way. We feel like what we do as a family could be inspirational to others who are in a blended/coparenting position.
On our podcast we will be talking about how we meet, the hardships we went through to get here, fun story times, how to work together as parents, also will have some guess stars in the future, and much more! Both of us are so excited to start working together, and have a lot of fun doing it.
Our goal is to shed light on co-parenting, what is like for us, and how important it is for the kids! They are the most important part of this all!!
We plan to be a really hands on podcast. Can't wait to for you guys to hear our first drop, and to answer all your questions.
