I love this time of year…time to gather with friends and family and a time to reflect on the past year. This year, I reached my 100th episode and 4th season of this podcast. This hobbyist project that started in the pandemic has continued to produce fruit for me spiritually and led to great reflection and conversations. I took a little break from it in the middle of this year, but am back at it recording episodes for Season 5 which will start January 16, 2024. I can’t believe Season 5 will mean a fourth year of doing this with 100+ episodes 🙀 Grateful for the support and can’t wait to see what 2024 brings!

Surprise! I love the end of the liturgical year and also love this first reading from today’s Mass. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring the podcast back for a surprise episode. Only God knows what 2024 will bring, but as we come to the end of this liturgical year this month, I thought it was only appropriate to reflect a little and give you an update. Enjoy! 👂🙏🎧

✨mini life update ✨ Hey, everyone! It’s been about 4-5 mos since the 100th episode of this podcast released. I’m still taking a break, but the Holy Spirit is not! I wanted to give y’all a mini-life update.
I was accepted into a program for spiritual direction here in Richmond which started this fall and I’m really excited about how the Lord is already working through those classes and sessions. I’m doing a lot of reading, writing, and praying these days- even more so than usual! I’ve also continued blogging and recently accepted another part time gig writing for a catechetical resource. I hope to return to the podcast in 2024, but I hope you all are enjoying this new fall season and that you are noticing the Spirit at work in your lives as well! 🍁🍂🙏

Been a minute since I’ve posted and I’m still taking a break from the podcast, but love that we’ve got a library of episodes to pull from and conversations to contemplate when we hear the readings at Mass! Today’s Gospel made me think of my conversation with from Season 2 and the first reading reminded me of a chat from Season 1 with Rosina from . You might want to go back and listen to reflect in the readings from Mass today!

Happy Feast of Pentecost! It’s one of my favorite feasts and the end of the Easter season. Why not celebrate by listening to last year’s Ascension/Pentecost episode or revisit one of my very first episodes ever- Season 1, Ep 2- with my friend Michael from Liturgy Training Publications? Come, Holy Spirit! 🔥

Still taking a break, but if you want to chat this summer, send me a message!

100th episode aired this week ✨🙏🎧 🎉This podcast started in the pandemic when the world was shut down and we were at home seeking new ways to connect with others. I loved being able to interact with people through this medium and through Scripture in that time. As we adjust to life post-pandemic and our lives get busy again, it’s been harder to find guests and time to record episodes. I am definitely open to recording new episodes, but will be taking a break again as we get back to “normal”. I am grateful to all of my guests and listeners and hope to have some more Seven Mile Chats sooner rather than later. I am always open to seeking new ways to encounter Christ with others and Scripture is an amazing way to do that. I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to lead and perhaps revive the podcast sometime soon! Until then…🙏

My guest earlier this month, , mentioned finding a “life verse” when we discussed the verse that has been important to her in her life. This week, I thought that I would share mine. 24/12/2022

Merry Christmas Eve! 2022 has been a good year, but started and is ending kind of sadly with lots of darkness and loved ones who are suffering. We feel this suffering, I believe, even more so in this time of cold, winter, and dark nights. There’s no coincidence that the Church places our feast of Christmas during this time. Christ’s coming into the world through Mary and the Holy Spirit as a newborn is light and hope in this time of physical and maybe spiritual darkness.

I decided to release a special bonus episode today reflecting on John’s introductory narrative that you may hear at Mass on Christmas Day. I hope that it provides a little light amid this cold and dark of winter as well.

Sending prayers of peace, joy, warmth, and hope to you and yours this Christmas season!
