The UNC system seems much more interested in paying confederate groups than ensuring students can make ends meet while getting their degree.

UNC System reveals it gave additional $74,999 to Confederates to stop Silent Sam protests UNC System Board of Governors agreed to have UNC Chapel Hill pay additional $74,999 to NC Sons of Confederate Veterans in Silent Sam deal so the group wouldn’t display flags and banners on university campuses.

Great meeting with our union siblings from NC State and UNC Chapel Hill!
This morning we joined with many groups at UNC to protest against the UNC Board of Governors decision to give the Confederate Silent Sam statue and $2.5 million to Sons of Confederate Veterans. After the rally, grad worker members from NCSU, UNCG and UNC met up to re-launch the UE150 UNC System council to continue organizing against racism, increased worker fees and for affordable healthcare for all UNC system workers

We need this at UNCG!
'The University works because we do': UNC grad students win on fees, push on pay Thanks to a local labor organization, some graduate students don't need to pay mandatory fees on top of their tuition anymore, but there's still there’s still a lot more to be done in the fight for fair compensation.
This Friday the UNC system Board of Governors will be voting on a number of provisions including increases to fees and tuition for UNCG graduate students. Share your thoughts at the link below and join us Friday to tell the BOG NO!
