BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute's 'Timeless Inspirations from Hindu Festivals’ conference, held on 28 July at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Sydney brought together various organisations from NSW’s Hindu Community. This annual event, now in its third year, featured presentations by esteemed leaders in the community on Hindu festivals such as Ram Navami by Shri Ramyavaran Ramaswamy from the Hindu Swayam Sevak Sangh, Janmashtami by Shri Deepak Vinod representing the Global Organisation for Divinity, and Ganesh Chaturthi by Shri Dr. Uday Kulkarni from the Western Sydney Ganeshotsav. The keynote address by Mahamahopadhyay Swami Bhadreshdas provided profound insights into the significance of these festivals and their timeless teachings.

The event united 56 representatives from 23 organisations and celebrated multicultural Australia's values by encouraging understanding, respect, and harmony among various cultural backgrounds. We sincerely thank all participants and speakers for their contributions to the event's success. Together, we remain committed to honouring and spreading the rich heritage and wisdom of Hinduism while fostering diversity and inclusiveness.

Celebrating Timeless Inspirations: A Harmonious Gathering of South Australia's Hindu Community

The BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute, Australia, is delighted to share the successful completion of our enlightening event themed "Timeless Inspirations from Hindu Festivals," held on 14 July at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Adelaide. This year marks the third year running of our conference series on Timeless wisdom which can be found in Sanatan Dharma.

We were honoured to host insightful presentations by:

Shri Vinod Bisht, Uttarakhand Association
Shri Pramey Kakkad, Indian Lawyer and Vaishnav Sangh of Adelaide
Shri Gokul Dhakal, Shiv Mandir Adelaide, and Social Leader in the Nepalese Community in South Australia

The event was a confluence of wisdom, with 71 representatives from 25 organisations participating, reflecting the unity and diversity within our vibrant community. The highlight of the event was the keynote address by Mahamahopadhyay Swami Bhadreshdas, who enlightened us with profound insights into the significance of Hindu festivals and their timeless teachings rooted in Sanatan Dharma.

Through this conference, we furthered the values of multicultural Australia by fostering understanding, respect, and unity among diverse cultural backgrounds. Our collective efforts celebrate the rich heritage and wisdom of Hinduism, contributing to the vibrant tapestry of Australia's multicultural society.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants and speakers for making this event a resounding success. Together, we continue to celebrate and propagate the rich heritage and wisdom of Hinduism, while promoting the values of diversity and inclusiveness.

👉 BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute (BSRI) in Australia organized special conferences titled ‘Timeless Wisdom from Hindu Scriptures’ in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

👉 Over 279 religious leaders, representatives and scholars from 124 Hindu organizations, cultural groups and media united to reinforce the significance of Hindu shastras, their relevance today and the importance of relaying this spiritual legacy to future generations.

👉 The conferences promoted understanding of the profound wisdom and cultural richness encapsulated within these sacred texts.
Each conference began with a grand palkhi yatra (procession) and pujan of the shastras. Mahamahopadhyaya Bhadreshdas Swami gave the keynote speech via video.

👉 Thereafter, children and youth recited Sanskrit verses from the shastras. Distinguished speakers delivered presentations on the following shastras: Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Shrimad Bhagvat Puran, Ramayan, Upanishads, Vedas, Vachanamrut and Satsang Diksha. His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj blessed the conferences via video.

👉 Mahant Swami Maharaj’s vision of making the circle of global harmony bigger was seen through these conferences and support from the community.

The Timeless Wisdom of Hindu scriptures unveils a pathway to conscious living in our day-to-day existence.

The BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute (BSRI) organised a remarkable educational conference themed 'Timeless Wisdom' at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Kingston, Brisbane, on August 20, 2023.

This is the fourth edition of the conference across Australia, where the enlightening conference delved into the contemporary relevance of Hindu scriptures, illuminating how the profound wisdom of these age-old teachings can gracefully navigate us through the complexities of the modern world.

The event witnessed a congregation where over 40 community leaders representing 25 Hindu organisations converged to participate in this conference. The dignitaries reverentially conducted a puja ceremony of the Vedic scriptures while also generously sharing invaluable insights drawn from revered texts such as the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, and Satsang Diksha.

Envisioned by our guru Mahant Swami Maharaj, the BAPS Research Institute was inaugurated in Australia in 2022. It stands as a manifestation of his aspiration to create a platform for inclusive, profound, and scholarly discourse, fostering meaningful reflections by bringing together learned minds from academia and beyond.

Here are some of the distinguished speakers who graced the occasion:
Sakhirai Prabhuji from ISKCON enlightened us about the essence of the Bhagavad Gita.
Mr. Krrishna Kanduri from Shri Selva Vinayagar Temple, also the HOTA coordinator, delved into the profound insights of the Vedas.
Dr. Sadashivam Suresh from Chinmaya Mission, Brisbane, unravelled the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
Prof. Sarva Dhaman Singh, an author and writer, shared his expertise on the Upanishads.
The event was further graced by Mr John-Paul Langbroek Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs and the MP for Surfers Paradise, adding to the event's significance.

This conference marked yet another step towards disseminating timeless wisdom, fostering a deeper connection with our ancient heritage while navigating the intricacies of our contemporary world in Brisbane's vibrant setting.

More than 108 community leaders from 45 Hindu organizations participated in the event. Representatives performed a puja of Vedic scriptures and shared valuable insights from the Bhagavat Puran, Ramayan, Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and Satsang Diksha.

The BAPS Research Institute launched in Australia and New Zealand in 2022, fulfilling the vision of our guru Mahant Swami Maharaj to serve as a model for collective, comprehensive, reverent scholarly discourse that would bring together academic minds for meaningful reflection.

More than 50 community leaders from 27 Hindu organisations participated in the event. Representatives performed a puja of Vedic scriptures and shared valuable insights from the Bhagavat Puran, Ramayan, Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads and Satsang Diksha.

📚 A spotlight on the timeless wisdom of Hindu Scriptures!

BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute in Australia (BSRIA) recently organised the first educational conference focusing on the ageless wisdom embedded in the core of Hindu scriptures. The event was held at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Green Fields, Adelaide, SA on 9 July 2023.

Delegates from various organisations performed a Vedic puja of Hindu Scriptures and shared valuable insights into these texts. The event witnessed young minds chanting Vedic shlokas, echoing the traditions of our Vedic era, reminding us that wisdom has no age.

The conference touched on the relevance of Hindu scriptures in modern times, shedding light on how these ancient teachings can guide us in today's complex world. We'd like to thank all the 27 community organisations and 68 of their leaders who attended this spiritual conference. We also thank Deputy Mayor Chad Buchanan of the City Of Salisbury Council for joining us in this quest for knowledge.

Shrimad Bhagvat Mahapuran: Dr Gaurang Prajapati (Hindu Council of Australia) unravelled the intricacies of this epic tale, imparting its deep-rooted wisdom.
Shri Ramchatismanas: Mr. Snehal Thaker (Sanatan Cultural Organisation South Australia) illuminated the timeless teachings embedded in the life and journey of Lord Rama.
Vachnamrut (BAPS): Sadhu Atmatruptdas (BAPS) explored the spiritual discourse and guidance offered in this sacred text.
Shrimad Bhagavad Gita: Mr. Kinjal Bhatt (OM Shakti Australia Incorporated) reflected on the profound philosophical dialogues between Prince Arjuna and Lord Krishna.
Upanishads: Mr Dilip Chirmuley (Marathi Mandal Of Adelaide) enlightened us on the fundamental concepts of reality, consciousness, and the ultimate truth, as explained in the Upanishads.
Satsang Diksha (BAPS): Sadhu Paramchintandas (BAPS) engaged us in a thoughtful discourse on spiritual awakening and enlightenment.

Inauguration of BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institutes, Asia Pacific, 24 Jul 2022 - 28 Aug 2022 09/07/2023

The first BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute in the Asia Pacific region was inaugurated in Sydney on 24 July 2022 at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in the esteemed presence of Mahāmahōpādhyāya Bhadreshdas Swami

Since then, BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institutes have also been launched in five other Australian centres: Melbourne (31 July), Brisbane (7 August), Canberra (18 August), Adelaide (21 August) and Perth (28 August). A total of more than 480 delegates from 245 organizations and over 7,000 devotees and well-wishers were present to witness the inauguration ceremonies.

The research institutes in Australia will offer both online and in-person courses in traditional languages, Hindu festivals, Vedic philosophy, Vedic rituals, world religions and memorising scriptures.
